JOB SUMMARY

Responsibilities include all general film library duties, including filing and downloading image data to the PACS system. Utilizes Department of Radiology Information System to track images and the disposition of the interpretive report. Responds to image requests via phone or internal request system per departmental standards. Performs related duties as requested. Treats patients, staff, physicians and the general public in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner. Incorporates the concepts of the Mission and Vision into practice.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Employees must abide by all Joint Commission Requirements including but not limited to sensitivity to cultural diversity, patient care, patient rights and ethical treatment, safety and security of physical environments, emergency management, teamwork, respect for others, participation in ongoing education and training, communication and adherence to safety and quality programs, sustaining compliance with National Patient Safety Goals, and licensure and health screenings.

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.

* Answers department and reading room phones directing callers and providing follow up as needed.

* Burns CDs.

* Downloads images for review or storage.

* Ensures images are available for review on PACS and corresponding paperwork is present.

* Monitors the dictation and transcription process and notify the radiologists and leadership to meet performance standards.

* Performs reception functions when required at the front desk.

* Verifies the requester's information submitted in order to provide accurate check-out of patient's images consistent with HIPAA and hospital guidelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Experience: None required

License/Certification: None required

KNOWLEDGE

* Ability to navigate through the PACS system to locate images and transfer image data.

* Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve dictation and image transfer processes, escalating to management when needed.

* Ability to work as a team player.

* Knowledge of alpha and numeric filing.

* Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area.

* Knowledge of Medical Terminology.

Pay Range

Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.

Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.

Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $34.28 to $38.46
