Stanley Black & Decker is an American toolmaker formed in 2010 by merging Stanley Works, founded in 1843, with Black & Decker, and it is the largest hand and power tool manufacturer in the world. Its brands include DeWalt for professional trades, Craftsman, Black+Decker for consumers and Stanley for hand tools, alongside outdoor equipment and industrial fastening systems. Headquartered in New Britain, Connecticut and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, it has spent recent years unwinding an inventory build-up and divesting non-core businesses to restore margins.

Global Vertical Manager, Data Centers - Remote

Connecticut, United States

Come build something that matters.

It takes great people to achieve greatness. People with a sense of purpose and integrity. People with a relentless pursuit of excellence. People who care about making things better For Those Who Make The World™. Sound like you? Join our top-notch team of approximately 43,500 diverse and high-performing professionals globally who are making their mark on some of the world’s most beloved brands, including DEWALT®, BLACK+DECKER®, CRAFTSMAN®, STANLEY®, CUB CADET®, and HUSTLER®.

The Job:

As Global Vertical Manager, Data Centers, you’ll be part of our Stanley Engineered Fastening (SEF) team working as a remote employee. You own the growth strategy, go-to-market execution and commercial performance for SEF’s Data Center vertical across North America, Europe and Asia. Based in North America, you will stand this vertical up from strategy through execution: defining where we play and how we win across hyperscale, colocation and enterprise data center customers, and across the EPC, OEM and equipment manufacturers who serve them. Fastening-specific automation sits at the center of this role. Data center construction and equipment assembly are constrained by skilled labor availability and cycle time, and our automated installation and assembly technology is the sharpest edge we have. You will make the core of the vertical value proposition - and be equally credible discussing it in a customer’s engineering review and defending a three-year margin plan in a business review.

You’ll get to:

Vertical Strategy & Growth Framework

  • Own the global Data Center vertical strategy - market sizing, segmentation, prioritization and a multi-year roadmap with clear where-to-play and how-to-win choices across all three regions.
  • Develop and execute the annual strategic business plan for revenue, gross margin and share gain, with regional plans that roll up to a single global number.
  • Continuously analyze target markets - hyperscale’s, colocation providers, EPC and MEP contractors, rack and enclosure OEMs, power distribution, busway and liquid cooling manufacturers - and define market-specific value propositions grounded in customer need.
  • Convert industry signals - AI-driven capacity growth, liquid cooling adoption, modular and prefabricated construction, regional buildout cycles, supply chain shifts - into commercial action.

Fastening Application & Automation Leadership

  • Serve as the global authority on engineered fastening applications in data center environments - rack and enclosure assembly, cable management and power distribution, cooling infrastructure, and vibration-sensitive joints.
  • Identify technology gaps and innovation opportunities specific to the vertical
  • Act as the conduct between the field and product development, translating application insight into the future-state solution and innovation pipeline.

Go-to-Market & Demand Generation

  • Lead demand generation strategy and go-to-market execution, ensuring segmentation-based priorities are consistently deployed across regions.
  • Define the global account targeting strategy; partner with regional sales leadership on account plans, specification strategy and named hyperscale and colocation pursuits.
  • Direct vertical content, technical collateral, application case studies and campaign development in partnership with marketing.

Commercial Ownership

  • Own the commercial health of the vertical - pipeline, revenue, gross margin, and funnel conversion - and drive corrective action where gaps emerge.
  • Build the metrics, dashboards and reporting cadence that measure vertical success and inform resource allocation.

Global Stakeholder Management

  • Align and influence a matrixed global network - regional sales leaders, product management, engineering, operations, marketing and finance across three regions - largely without direct authority.
  • Lead and develop vertical resources, including direct and dotted-line team members across regions.
  • Navigate regional differences in customer structure, buying behavior, construction practice and standards - adapting the global framework without fragmenting it.

The Person:

You love to learn and grow and be acknowledged for your valuable contributions. You’re not intimidated by innovation. Wouldn’t it be great if you could do your job and do a world of good? In fact, you embrace it. You also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Marketing or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 8-10 years in marketing, sales, product management or business development within industrial, engineered products or construction-adjacent markets.
  • Deep, demonstrable data center market knowledge - the customers, buying cycle, delivery model and technical requirements. Prior experience serving hyperscale, colocation or data center construction ecosystems is preferred.
  • Direct experience with engineered fastening applications and with fastening-specific or assembly automation.
  • Track record of building a growth strategy from market analysis through to an executed commercial plan, owning revenue and margin outcomes.
  • Proven influence across a global matrix spanning multiple regions and cultures.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving: synthesize findings from analysis and draw clear, defensible conclusions.
  • Works across US, EU, and Asia time zones
  • Occasional domestic and international travel (10-20%)
  • Preferred - Experience with liquid cooling, power distribution, busway, cable containment or modular and prefabricated data center construction.
  • Preferred - Experience launching a vertical or new market segment from the ground up.
  • Preferred - MBA or equivalent commercial qualification.
  • Preferred - Regional language capability relevant to Europe or Asia.
