This position will be located at the Stanley Black & Decker Taiwan Design Center (TDC) and report to the Hand Tools and Storage (HTAS) Manager, as part of the larger Global Customer Experience (GCX) Industrial Design team. This position will support end user insights, innovation, industrial design, surfacing, digital visualization and prototyping for several key Brand franchises. These include, Stanley, Black + Decker, DEWALT, Craftsman, Mac Tools, Porter Cable, Bostitch, Irwin & Lenox.\nWho We’re Looking For:\nWe are seeking a creative, enthusiastic, out-of-the-box thinker, who can visualize new design directions, work cross-functionally with adjacent teams, and execute production-ready design solutions. This person will drive day to day project design activities, with accuracy and accountability.\nResponsibilities:\nManage daily industrial design responsibilities for the supported projects\nRegular communication with design leadership in global design centers\nCreate compelling designs based upon Ideation, Research and Product Requirements\nProduce inspiring sketches/illustrations/visuals of advanced industrial design concepts\nDevelop a mastery of the respective brand design languages\nProduce conceptual CAD and to support the industrial design ideation/illustration process\nSupport and participate in field research activities\nNew Product Ideation and brainstorming support\n Education/Qualifications:\nBS, BA or equivalent in Industrial Design\nSolid English language skills\nGreat communication & collaboration abilities with other global teams and disciplines.\nProficiency with common design tools (Sketchbook Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, KEYSHOT, Wacom tablet, etc.)\nExperience with 3D CAD solid and surfacing modeling, CATIA experience desirable\nProficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, etc.) \nAbility to quickly conceptualize ideas.\nA strong understanding of design principles and a sense for brand aesthetic standards.\nBasic understanding of manufacturing processes.\nExceptional sketching and visualizing skills.\nExcellent creative problem solving.\nStrong project and time management skills.\nAnd More:\nWe want our company to be a place you’ll want to be - and stay.
