From conducting end user research to identify new needs, designing and prototyping tools to ensure we meet our customers high expectations, to creating robust tests to guarantee the tools we make stand up to the toughest environments, our engineers own every aspect of the process along the way.\n\nThe Job\nAs a Senior Engineering Technician located in Towson MD you will be an\nintegral part of professional power tools new product development team.\nPerform hands-on concept development, prototyping, product testing, and data collection.\nPerform tests, prepare and analyze test results and provide guidance back to product development team.\nWorks closely with manufacturing and suppliers. Utilizes experience and cross-functional interaction to deliver solutions that are innovative, manufacturable, and cost effective.\nInvestigate design issues and test failures and effectively drives corrective actions.\nEffectively maintains appropriate documentation for work performed.\nPerform technical tests, analyze results, and provide actionable design advice to engineering teams.\nMonitor Engineering data against established performance targets, identify trends, and recommend areas for improvement.\nStay abreast of emerging technical and process advancements; support the adoption of state-of-the-art practices across the organization.\nProvide technical consultation to Engineering Support team members, allied teams, and other stakeholders.\nWork with other Technicians to create best practices.\nThe Person:\n3-5 years related experience\nAbility to consult and advise teams for decision-making and problem-solving.\nAdvanced ability to navigate complex and ambiguous test requirements from Design Engineering teams.\nDemonstrated competence in track scheduling.\nSkilled in using standard electrical and mechanical measuring instruments.\nDemonstrates foundational product and user knowledge relevant to Stanley Black & Decker’s portfolio.\nSkill in 2D3D CAD, diagnostics, and electrical/mechanical design.\nCommunicate with openness and respect for differing perspectives\nProven ability to influence others to achieve shared goals.\nThe Details:\nYou’ll receive a competitive salary and a great benefits plan, including:\nMedical, dental, life, vision, disability, 401(k), Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off, and tuition reimbursement in addition to programs & benefits in support of your well-being. \nDiscounts on Stanley Black & Decker tools and other partner programs. \nAnd More:\nWe want our company to be a place you’ll wantto be - and stay.
