Working closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams, the role helps ensure tooling is available, fit for purpose, and maintained to the required quality standards to support safe and efficient manufacturing operations.\nKey Responsibilities\nOperate toolroom machinery and equipment safely and efficiently in line with work instructions and engineering requirements\nPrepare, modify, repair, and maintain tooling, dies, jigs, fixtures, and related components\nSet up machines and tooling for toolroom operations as required\nRead and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical instructions\nUse measuring instruments such as callipers, micrometres, gauges, and other inspection equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances\nInspect machined parts, tools, and components for quality, wear, damage, or defects\nCarry out routine machine checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance of toolroom equipment\nSupport tool changeovers and ensure tooling is ready for production schedules\nMaintain accurate records of work completed, tooling repairs, servicing, and inventory where required\nMonitor tooling and consumable stock levels and report shortages\nEnsure all tools, components, and equipment are correctly identified and stored in designated locations\nMaintain high housekeeping standards within the toolroom\nComply with all health, safety, quality, and environmental procedures\nWork closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to minimize downtime and improve tooling performance\nQualifications and Experience\nTechnical certification, vocational training, or apprenticeship in machining, toolmaking, mechanical engineering, or a related field preferred\nPrevious experience in a toolroom, machine shop, manufacturing, or engineering environment preferred\nExperience operating manual or semi-automated toolroom machinery\nExperience handling tooling, fixtures, dies, jigs, and precision measuring equipment\nFamiliarity with maintenance and repair of production tooling is an advantage\nKnowledge and Skills\nBasic understanding of toolroom operations and machining processes\nAbility to operate toolroom machinery safely and effectively\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical instructions\nKnowledge of hand tools, machine tools, and measuring instruments\nGood mechanical aptitude and attention to detail\nAbility to identify wear, defects, and maintenance needs in tooling and equipment\nBasic recordkeeping and inventory control skills\nGood problem-solving ability\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team\nStrong commitment to safety, quality, and housekeeping standards\nWorking Hours and Benefits\n3-shift rotation, Monday to Friday, 35.75 hours per week\nShift allowance\nWe Don’t Just Build The World, We Build Innovative Technology Too.\nJoining the Stanley Black & Decker team means working in an innovative, tech-driven and highly collaborative team environment supported by over 43,500 professionals in 60 countries across the globe.
