This position requires experience in roadway design as well as a determination to grow their transportation design knowledge. This position plans and designs across the full cycle of transportation projects from concept through construction.\nWhat You Will Be Doing:\nLead plan development for transportation design projects including horizontal and vertical geometry, cross sections, earthwork modeling, and 3D roadway modeling.\nPrepare and modify reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and cost estimates.\nLead drainage and utility design and coordination.\nCalculate quantities and develop construction specifications.\nUtilize computer-assisted engineering design software to create professional contract drawings.\nEnsure compliance with company quality assurance and quality control standards.\nLead and mentor EITs and design technicians.\nReview design computations and quantity estimate for accuracy.\nEvaluate needs for design changes and make appropriate recommendations.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program\nA minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with focus on transportation design\nLouisiana Professional Engineer (PE) license\nExperience working with DOTD developing and delivering highway design projects\nExperience with DOTD design methods, plan preparation, standards, and specifications\nProficiency with Bentley InRoads, OpenRoads\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nDemonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a project team\nSelf-motivated with adaptability to evolving projects and client needs\nKnowledge of virtual collaboration tools such as ProjectWise and Bluebeam\nPreferred Qualifications:\nFamiliarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D\nExperience with local governmental agencies and municipalities developing and delivering transportation design
