In addition, the individual will investigate and resolve issues that arise.\nSpecifically, You Will:\nPerform month end closing activities such as analyses, journal entries and generation of reports.\n\nPrepare account reconciliations and resolve issues and unreconciled differences.\n\nProvide meaningful analysis, in-depth review and commentary on monthly/quarterly/annual financials and comparisons to prior periods for areas assigned.\n\nProvide supplementary and ad-hoc reporting / analysis as required.\n\nKeep team appraised of unexpected or uncontrollable circumstances that may impact reporting timelines.\n\nIdentify and execute process improvements for existing month end activities and reconciliations.\n\nPartner with various individuals within finance to improve controls and efficiency.\n\nSupport and liaise with the external auditors in their execution of the audits.\n\nEvaluate the existing month-end, quarter-end and year-end processes and propose improvements that result in a more efficient and effective close process.\n\nSome of what you need:\nUniversity degree or equivalent in accounting, business, finance or a related field.\n\nProfessional accounting designation (Canadian CPA is an asset) or working towards a designation.\n\nKnowledge of financial reporting.\n\nKnowledge and understanding of financial systems.
