Instead of cables and outlets, Star Catcher is building the technology to wirelessly beam energy to spacecraft’s existing solar panels when and where they need it.\nBe an early member of a team building an entirely new energy infrastructure at scale to power the next frontier.\nStar Catcher Industries, Inc., located in Jacksonville, Florida, has an opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer - Controls (Pointing, Acquisition & Tracking) to support the development of space-to-space power beaming spacecraft and the Star Catcher Network, its orbital power grid. \nKey Responsibilities\nPerform receiving, in-process, and final quality inspections on flight hardware, precision components, mechanical assemblies, and electrical builds.\nReview Certificate of Conformance (CoC), material test reports, and supplier documentation against engineering procurement requirements.\nUtilize precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gages, optical comparators, and pin gages to perform mechanical dimensional checks.\nInspect workmanship on electronic assemblies and wiring harnesses according to IPC/NASA workmanship standards.\nIdentify, document, and segregate non-conforming parts and materials by initiating Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).\nApply physical red-tags or containment holds on non-conforming hardware to prevent inadvertent use.\nAssist Quality Engineers in containment actions, root cause investigations, and verifying rework or repair actions resulting from MRB dispositions.\nMaintain accurate routing/traveler sign-offs and ensure complete hardware history logs.\nOversee day-to-day calibration tracking for measurement instruments, tools, and test equipment used on the production floor and in labs.\nVerify that all tools used in flight builds are within active calibration dates and properly maintained.\nMonitor cleanroom environmental controls, foreign object debris (FOD) prevention programs, and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) safety protocols.\nAssist with routine safety, spill kit, and facility compliance checks to maintain a safe working environment.\nBasic Qualifications\nEducation: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree in a technical or engineering discipline preferred.\nExperience: 3+ years of hands-on quality inspection experience in aerospace, space systems, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing.\n Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) callouts.\n Measurement Tools: Proficiency using standard mechanical and optical inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, micro-scopes).\n Standards Awareness: Working familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management environments.\nDesired Skills\nActive ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification.\nWorkmanship certifications such as IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, or J-STD-001 solder inspection.\nExperience with cleanroom operations, precision CMM measurement, or CMM/Coordinate Measuring Machine operation.\nFamiliarity with enterprise QMS software for NCR logging and inventory management.\nHelp us deploy and scale space infrastructure that will drive our utilization of space forward!
