Instead of cables and outlets, Star Catcher is building the technology to wirelessly beam energy to spacecraft’s existing solar panels when and where they need it.\nBe an early member of a team building an entirely new energy infrastructure at scale to power the next frontier.\nStar Catcher Industries, Inc., located in Jacksonville, Florida, has an opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer to support the development of space-to-space power beaming spacecraft and the Star Catcher Network, its orbital power grid. \nKey Responsibilities\nImplement and uphold QMS processes following the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle across all flight projects and R&D efforts.\nEnsure compliance with AS9100 quality standards, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and customer requirements.\nParticipate in internal and external quality audits to evaluate QMS performance and drive continuous improvement.\nDevelop, implement, and maintain processes to control standard operations, quality, and safety. \nDocument, evaluate, and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for issues identified internally, at suppliers, or by customers.\nFacilitate immediate containment actions, stop-work orders, and disposition plans (Rework, Repair, Scrap, Use As-Is).\nLead structured Root-Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations using 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, or Fault Tree Analysis.\nEstablish, track, and verify Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) plans to eliminate recurring non-conformances.\nReview Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and participate in Engineering Review Boards (ERB) to evaluate potential impact on quality and flight safety.\nSupport Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate hardware and process risks.\nMaintain configuration management discipline to ensure complete product identity and requirement traceability.\nOversee calibration control systems for measurement and test equipment used on flight builds.\nSupport supplier quality evaluations, incoming component inspections, and counterfeit parts prevention controls.\nEnsure operational team awareness of quality policies, relevant quality objectives, and safety standards.\nBasic Qualifications\n Education: Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial, or Quality Engineering (or related field).\nExperience: 7+ years of quality engineering experience within the aerospace, defense, or space industry.\nStandards Expertise: Strong working knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001 standards.\n Problem-Solving Skills: Hands-on experience with root cause analysis methodologies (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA, CAPA).\n Configuration Controls: Direct experience with non-conformance processing (NCR), dispositioning, and engineering change controls (ECR).\nDesired Skills\nASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or AS9100 Lead Auditor certification.\nExperience with flight hardware manufacturing, precision measurement tools, and cleanroom quality controls.\nFamiliarity with project risk and opportunity registers and supplier quality monitoring.\nHelp us deploy and scale space infrastructure that will drive our utilization of space forward!
