Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.\nAs a machine operator l, you will:\nInspect, operate, and maintain primary and secondary automated production equipment to ensure optimal performance.\nRecognize and troubleshoot typical equipment or systems issues using established solutions.\nDemonstrate intermediate knowledge and skills relevant to operating automated production equipment.\nCalibrate and validate quality testing equipment; perform all testing procedures according to established specifications.\nPerform visual inspections of finished products; identify quality problems and recommend solutions.\nMonitor and document package quality using analytical tools; participate in out of specification and failure investigations.\nRecord operational and production data.\nMay train new machine techs or operators on proper operational procedures.\nInform appropriate manufacturing partners and supervisor of machine performance irregularities to minimize the impact of production downtime.\nMinimize production scrap, including materials and coffee product.\nCollaborate with team to perform product and equipment changeovers.\nMaintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.\nParticipate in process improvement activities.\nDemonstrate and understand safety as a core value and follow the key essentials to safety as set forth by our safety resolution; reinforce and coaches others to do the same.\nUnderstand and follow established safety guidelines, consistently comply with all safety procedures (e.g. PPE, Lock Out Tag Out).\nSupport food safety, legality, and quality programs.\nMaintain product quality through adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety Preventative Controls, product specifications and quality procedures. Monitors and documents quality measures using analytical tools.\nPerform other duties as needed in support of business objectives and Starbucks Mission & Values.\nWe’d love to hear from people with:\nHigh school diploma/GED, US military service or equivalent\nOperating manual and automated packaging equipment (2 years)\nPerforming quality tests using analytical tools (1 year)\nRegulated food manufacturing environment (1 year)\nMechanical aptitude to troubleshoot minor machine failures and make minor adjustments (1 year)\nAbility to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing\nAbility to understand written policies and guidelines, specifications, and safety standards \nAbility to work with a diverse team environment\nAbility to work in accordance with safety, quality and sanitation standards, policies, and procedures\nAbility to repair minor mechanical issues on machines and systems\nExperience conducting quality tests and analyzing data\nAbility to train others and measure effectiveness\nBasic math skills\nProblem-solving and troubleshooting skills\nMechanical knowledge of automated machines and tools\nAbility to work in accordance with quality, safety, and sanitation standards, policies and guidelines\nAbility to work variable shifts to support business needs\nFamiliarity with food safety regulatory requirements and global standards including Preventive Controls for Human Food (FDA Code of Federal Regulations) and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). Experience with the GFSI certification schemes (i.e. BRC and/or or SQF).
