Learn more at starburst.ai.\nAbout the role:\nStarburst Data is seeking a highly skilled and motivated and self starting individual to join our team as a Resident Solution Architect. In this role, you will be responsible for working closely with our customers to understand their business challenges and requirements, and then architecting and implementing solutions using Starburst products. In this role, you will also work closely with our partner ecosystem and will design and implement comprehensive training programs, ensuring partners are equipped to deliver top-tier solutions to clients. As a Resident Solution Architect, you will serve as a trusted advisor to our customers, helping them maximize the value of their data and achieve their business objectives.\nAs a Resident Solution Architect at Starburst you will: \nCollaborate with customers to understand their business goals, data architecture, and technical requirements.\nDesign end-to-end solutions that leverage Starburst products to address customer needs, including data access, analytics, and performance optimization.\nDevelop architectural diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation plans for customer projects.\nLead the implementation and deployment of Starburst solutions, working closely with customer teams and internal stakeholders.\nLearn in depth how the engine, connectors and integrations with 3rd party products work.\nProvide technical guidance and best practices to customers on using Starburst products effectively.\nWork with partners to train and upskill external personnel on Starburst Products for successful delivery.\nCollaborate with internal teams and external partners to create resources, best practices, application flow diagrams and internal processes that enhance partner delivery capabilities\nTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the implementation and operation of Starburst solutions.\nStay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data management and analytics.\nSome of the things we look for:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.\n8+ years of experience in a technical role, such as solution architect, data engineer, or software engineer.\nDeep understanding of data architecture principles, including data modeling, data integration, and data warehousing.\nProficiency in SQL and experience with distributed query engines (e.g., Presto, Trino, Apache Spark).\nStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about business challenges and technical solutions.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and internal teams.\nExperience with Linux OS, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), containerization technologies (e.g., Docker and Kubernetes) and programming/scripting (Java/Python/Bash) is a plus.\nPrior experience in client facing / consulting roles is highly desirable.\nPrior experience with open-source technologies and contributions to the open-source community are highly desirable.\nPrior experience with running technical training internally or externally is highly desirable.\nFamiliarity with LLM-based data interaction patterns (e.g., natural\nlanguage to SQL, retrieval-augmented generation) is a plus.\nUnderstanding of AI governance, data security, and risks associated\nwith AI-generated queries and insights is a plus.\nAbility to Travel: This role will require 25% in-person travel for purposes including but not limited to new hire onboarding, team and department offsites, customer \nWhere could this role be based?\nCentral, US \nStarburst is dedicated to maintaining fair and equitable compensation practices.
