The role follows established work instructions and quality standards while learning to use hand tools, measuring devices, and designated production equipment safely. Training will be provided, and assignments may expand as proficiency is demonstrated.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nAssembly & Production Operations:\nComplete assigned production tasks, including basic assembly, packing, material handling, and visual inspection, in accordance with training and documented instructions. \nPerform basic assembly operations on assigned product lines using approved tools and methods. \nAssist with secondary operations and operate designated equipment, such as saws and drill presses, only after completing required training and receiving authorization. \nClean, label, and pack finished products according to established shipping standards. \nComplete assigned work orders accurately and notify the Assembly Technician Lead or Shift Supervisor of questions, delays, or material concerns. \nMay be asked to obtain certification to operate a forklift. \nIncludes other duties as assigned that are relevant to the role and in support of company needs. \nQuality & Inspection:\nPerform visual inspections and basic measurements of materials, components, and finished products using established checklists and instructions. \nFollow established quality requirements and process steps to help ensure components and finished products meet specifications. \nIdentify, separate when directed, and promptly report suspected defects or process deviations to the Assembly Technician Lead or Shift Supervisor. \nFollow all documented work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality checklists. \nInventory & Workplace Standards:\nRestock assigned materials using the Kanban system and report low supplies. \nMaintain a safe, clean, and organized work area in accordance with the 5S program. \nReport material shortages or discrepancies to the Assembly Technician Lead, Shift Supervisor, or Production Coordinator. \nSafety & Compliance:\nFollow all company safety policies, applicable OSHA requirements, required procedures, and employee guidelines. \nParticipate in required safety training and toolbox talks, and promptly report hazards, injuries, or unsafe conditions. \nUse appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times in designated areas. \nSupport and demonstrate STARC Systems' values and mission. \nRequirements\nEducation and Experience:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required. \nPrior production, manufacturing, or assembly experience is not required; on-the-job training will be provided. \nAbility to learn to read and follow work orders, basic assembly drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and standard operating procedures. \nBasic math skills and the ability to learn to use measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers. \nPrevious experience with hand tools or power tools is helpful but not required. \nRequired Skills/Abilities:\nDependable and able to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail and accuracy. \nAbility to work effectively as part of a team in a collaborative production environment. \nAble to follow instructions, ask questions, accept feedback, and apply training consistently. \nFlexible and adaptable; able to shift between tasks and assignments as production needs change. \nStrong alignment with STARC’s core values: Team Aligned, Safety Focused, Committed, Innovative & Growth Oriented. \nWillingness to learn new tasks and support team needs as assigned. \nAble to communicate questions or concerns clearly and work collaboratively with team members, leads, and supervisors. \nBasic computer skills or willingness to learn the production tracking tools used in the role. \nPhysical Demands and Work Environment\nThe physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The noise level in the production environment is typically moderate to high; hearing protection may be required in designated areas.
