This role supports primary assembly operations, secondary machining, quality inspection, and general production floor activities. The Assembly Technician works across all production shifts as assigned and plays a key role in maintaining safety, quality, and operational efficiency on the shop floor.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nASSEMBLY & PRODUCTION OPERATIONS:\nPerform all required production tasks, including assembly, machine operation, packing, and inspection.\nPerform primary and secondary assembly operations across all product lines.\nOperate secondary machining equipment including saws, drill press, and other manufacturing machinery.\nClean and pack finished product to shipping standards.\nSupport production scheduling by completing assigned work orders accurately and on time.\nMay be asked to obtain certification to operate a forklift.\nIncludes other duties as assigned that are relevant to the role and in support of company needs.\nQUALITY & INSPECTION:\nInspect materials, components, and finished products to detect defects or malfunctions.\nMaintain quality standards, process parameters, and other indicators to ensure all components and finished products conform to quality specifications.\nIdentify and communicate non-conforming product or process deviations to the Assembly Technician Lead or Shift Supervisor.\nFollow all documented work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality checklists.\nINVENTORY & WORKPLACE STANDARDS:\nMonitor inventory levels of raw and semi-finished goods via Kanbans and restock promptly to avoid production interruptions.\nMaintain a safe, clean, and well-organized production work environment through consistent application of the 5S program.\nReport material shortages or discrepancies to the Production Coordinator in a timely manner.\nSAFETY & COMPLIANCE:\nEmbrace and comply with all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and company employee guidelines.\nParticipate in safety training, toolbox talks, and incident reporting as required.\nUse appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times in designated areas.\nSupports and models STARC Systems values and mission.\nRequirements\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required.\nPrior experience in a production, manufacturing, or assembly environment preferred; on-the-job training will be provided as required.\nAbility to read and follow work orders, assembly drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and standard operating procedures.\nBasic math skills and the ability to use measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.).\nExperience with hand tools, power tools, and basic manufacturing equipment a plus.\nREQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:\nStrong work ethic with the ability to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.\nAbility to work effectively as part of a team in a collaborative production environment.\nSelf-motivated individual contributor with a positive, solutions-oriented mindset.\nFlexible and adaptable; able to shift between tasks and assignments as production needs change.\nStrong alignment with STARC’s core values: Team Aligned, Safety Focused, Committed, Innovative & Growth Oriented.\nEntrepreneurial spirit and creative problem-solving skills; supportive of all internal teams.\nEffective communicator; able to escalate issues clearly and work collaboratively with leads and supervisors.\nProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or willing to learn basic production tracking tools.\nSCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION\nThis is a first shift position with hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.\nThe pay range for this position is $20.00 to $24.00 per hour.\nCompensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
