If you’re looking for a place where your ideas are not just welcomed but celebrated, you’ve found your home!\nJPS is here to deliver more for Registered Providers of Social Housing, Repairs & Maintenance Contractors and organisations operating in the public sector.\nWe are recruiting for an Assistant Branch Manager to join our thriving JPS team in St. Peters, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE6 1AQ.\nAs Assistant Branch Manager, you will take a hands-on leadership role in the day-to-day running of a busy branch, leading by example, delivering excellent customer service, building strong relationships and taking ownership of branch operations while maintaining high standards of Health and Safety.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nAct as first-line support to the Branch Manager, helping lead and motivate the team to deliver branch success.\nTake a hands-on approach to the day-to-day running of a busy branch, supporting the team and leading by example.\nDeliver an excellent customer experience, building strong relationships with local customers and suppliers.\nProcess customer orders over the phone and face to face, ensuring a professional and efficient service.\nSupport branch operations, including picking orders, checking deliveries, putting stock away and maintaining accurate stock levels.\nDeliver products to customers using a 3.5-tonne Transit van when required.\nDevelop your product knowledge to identify opportunities, maximise sales and make the most of every customer interaction.\nMaintain high standards of Health and Safety, housekeeping and branch operations, ensuring the team follows the correct procedures.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nExperience working within a builders’ merchant, building materials supplier or related trade environment is essential.\nA background in sales, marketing or working for a building materials supplier, with the ability to understand customer needs and identify opportunities to grow the business.\nStrong leadership skills, with the confidence to take the lead in a busy branch and support the Branch Manager with daily operations.\nA hands-on approach, with the ability to work alongside the team while ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.\nA strong focus on Health and Safety, with the ability to maintain branch standards and ensure the team works safely.\nExcellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships with customers and suppliers.\nGood organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.\nWhat’s in it for you\nCompetitive Basic Salary \nPerformance Related Bonus 34 days holiday per year \nRetirement Savings Plan (Pension) - with Legal & General \nLife Assurance - From your first day of employment with us you are automatically covered for a lump-sum death in service benefit of 2 x your basic salary.
