We're a friendly and collaborative team, passionate about what we do and committed to doing it well.\nWe’re searching for a Payroll Specialist to join us on a permanent basis working 4 days per week at our Binley, Coventry HQ. The purpose of the role is to process accurate and timely salary payments to all STARK UK colleagues. Ensure compliance with UK legislation in respect of processing of all payments to employees as well as income tax, National Insurance and pensions. Provide a specialist payroll service to all STARK UK companies via the People Services function.\nKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS\nKnowledge of manual and computerised payrolls, to include all pay methods and frequencies\nThe ability to work to strict and tight deadlines\nPrior knowledge of payroll and HR systems, both integrated and interface driven\nKnowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Office products, including file relationships and data import / export techniques\nSpecific Microsoft Excel knowledge of lookups and pivot tables.\nYear End and P11D reporting\nCalculation of payroll related benefits and salary sacrifice schemes\nWorking knowledge of UK income tax and National Insurance calculations\nKnowledge of Statutory Payments (SSP/SMP/SPP/SAP)\nBasic pensions knowledge\nCalculation of Court Orders and Student/Postgraduate Loans\nExperience of company acquisitions and TUPE transfers an advantage\nExcellent customer service and communication skills\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nExperience working on large volume payrolls\nAbility to work on own initiative and as part of a team\nDemonstrate high levels of confidentiality, honesty and integrity\nKEY RESULTS AREAS\nPay employees on time and accurately on the specified date, in line with contractual terms and payment frequencies\nThe provision of payroll support and advice to STARK colleagues\nApply and validate company and Statutory payments of sickness, maternity and paternity\nApply and validate Court Orders across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland legislation\nApply and validate incoming P6, P45 and New Starter Checklist (NSC) documents\nAttend weekly team meetings and huddles to maintain an acceptable standard of service delivery\nEnsure processes and procedures are adhered to, and maintained, in line with the business controls, internal and external audit procedures\nValidate any exception and/or error reports for reasonableness\nEnsure good customer links are forged and maintained, by ownership of an allocated section of the payroll\nKeep up to date with changes in legislation and best practice to ensure a professional service is always provided\nContribute to the production of timely and accurate year end data to H.M.
