As an essential member of the patient care team, the Medical Assistant will provide both administrative and clinical support to ensure the smooth operation of the clinic. Mileage will be reimbursed.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nLive and exemplify Starling Oncology core values, providing outstanding customer service and promoting a positive experience for patients and staff members.\nParticipate in company initiatives and team activities\nResponsible for documentation in electronic medical record (EMR) system(s)\nRequesting external medical records and preparing patient charts prior to patient appointments\nPerforming and documenting patient vital signs\nCompleting review of systems and intake documentation\nPreparing patients for physician care\nAdministering basic first aid\nPerforming venipunctures and non-intravenous injections\nPerforming basic laboratory procedures\nObserving and reporting patients’ signs or symptoms\nAble to serve as a chaperone in patient examinations as needed\nAssisting with patient examinations, procedures, or treatments\nAdministering certain medications as directed by the physician\nOther duties as assigned\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:\nProficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills.\nStrong organizational and multitasking abilities.\nDetail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.\nCompassionate and patient-focused attitude.\nAbility to work effectively in a team environment.\nProficiency in completing blood draws and processing labs\nEXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:\nHigh school graduate or GED \nCompletion of a Medical Assistant Diploma program from an accredited educational institute. Medical Assistant Certificate preferred, not required.\n2 years of experience working as a Medical Assistant or related role in an outpatient clinic/medical office setting is preferred.\nBLS and CPR certification preferred.\nBilingual in Spanish and English preferred.\nPHYSICAL WORKING REQUIREMENTS:\nThis position involves prolonged periods of standing and walking, performance of precise tasks like drawing blood and administering medications, and occasionally, lifting of up to 50 pounds. Clear vision and acute hearing are essential for reading charts and monitoring patients. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are critical, especially under stress.
