Grow your career with a rapidly growing company that invests in its people and their ability to drive real progress.\nJob Title: Construction Claims Manager - Primary Casualty Division \nReports To: AVP - Primary Construction Claims \nLocation: Alpharetta GA, New York, NY; Scottsdale AZ; Dallas, TX; Chicago, Il. \nCompany: [Privately Owned Property & Casualty Insurance Company]\nPosition Overview: \nThe Claims Manager plays a critical role in the Primary Casualty division, supporting the AVP - Primary Construction Claims in the effective evaluation, investigation, and resolution of construction claims. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical abilities, exceptional attention to detail, good communication skills and experience with construction claims (New York Labor Law, bodily injury, property damage). While this experience helps, we are looking for someone with a good aptitude to learn. This position requires interaction with insureds, brokers, legal representatives, and internal departments to ensure claims are handled proactively efficiently, fairly, and in accordance with company guidelines and industry standards.\nKey Responsibilities:\nReview, analyze, and process new and existing primary construction claims involving Starr insureds and oversight of third-party administrators.\nConduct investigations to determine coverage, liability, and damages, gathering necessary documentation and evidence from relevant parties. \nCommunicate directly with insureds, claimants, brokers, legal counsel, and vendors to obtain information, clarify issues, and negotiate settlements. \nMaintain accurate claim files, records, and documentation throughout the claims lifecycle. \nPrepare detailed reports, summaries, and correspondence on claim status and outcomes for management review. \nIdentify potential fraudulent claims or red flags and escalate as appropriate. \nWill be required to attend virtual and in-person mediations and settlement conferences to negotiate cost-effective settlements and potentially attend trials.\nContribute to department projects and initiatives, including claims process improvement and compliance monitoring. \nEnsure timely and professional response to all inquiries, consistently delivering high standards of customer service. \nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree\n3-7 years of claims experience within the construction insurance sector is preferred. \nA basic understanding of primary casualty insurance concepts, policy language, and regulatory requirements. \nSuccessfully complete needed insurance licensing within 6 months of hire. \nProven analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills. \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills. \nProficiency with claims management systems and Microsoft Office Suite. \nWillingness to learn new concepts in a collaborative work environment supported by your leaders and your teammates. \nAbility to work independently. \nDetail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities. \nWhat We Offer:\nCompetitive compensation and benefits package. \nAn organization with a strong growth and learning mindset. \nOpportunity for mentorship, professional development and growth within a dynamic, privately owned insurer with a pathway to more complex claims and coverage lines. \nCollaborative and supportive work environment. \nFor individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, Starr Insurance Companies is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
