As a Senior SQE, you will oversee the quality of products and services received from external suppliers. This position will be based on-site at our Grayling, MI or Auburn Hills, MI location and requires up to 50% travel.\nResponsibilities:\nSupplier selection and evaluation: Assess potential suppliers’ capabilities through technical reviews, quality system audits, and site visits to ensure they can meet quality requirements.\nSupplier performance monitoring: Track supplier quality metrics such as defect rates, delivery performance, and compliance to identify improvement opportunities and hold suppliers accountable to quality standards.\nQuality improvement initiatives: Develop and implement corrective action plans with suppliers to address quality issues, including root cause analysis and preventative measures.\nSupplier development: Provide technical guidance and training to suppliers to improve manufacturing processes and quality systems.\nNew product introduction: Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure new supplier products meet design specifications and quality requirements throughout the development process. Perform reviews and approve supplier AS9102 First Article Inspections.\nIncoming inspection oversight: Review and approve incoming inspection procedures and ensure proper quality checks are performed on received materials.\nSource inspection: Perform source inspections at supplier facilities.\nNon-conformance management: Investigate and resolve non-conforming product issues, including initiating corrective actions and managing supplier corrective action plans.\nData analysis and reporting: Utilize statistical tools to analyze quality data, identify trends, and generate reports on supplier performance.\nCompliance management: Ensure suppliers adhere to relevant quality standards and regulatory requirements.\nMentorship and leadership: Provide guidance and coaching to junior quality engineers on supplier quality management practices.\nTravel up to 50% annually, as required.\nCompensation Range: $92,200 - $115,300\nThe compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.\nSkills and Experience:\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field with six plus years of experience, or a Master’s degree with four plus years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nExperience with supplier quality management systems and auditing practices.\nProficiency in data analysis and statistical tools.\nExperience with AS9102 First Article Inspections.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage suppliers at all levels.\nAbility to travel to supplier locations for on-site assessments, audits, and inspections.\nKnowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.\nExperience driving quality improvements.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with Department of War (DoW) programs, procedures, and processes.\nASQ AS9100/ISO 9001 Certified Lead Auditor Certification.\nIPC or other relevant industry certifications.\nCitizenship Requirements:\nMust be a U.S. citizen.
