We're looking for a Head of BI to own and grow that team. Someone already running an analytics or data team who multiplies its impact. You own the team's backlog and outcomes, set priorities to balance team mandates with day-to-day deliverables, partner with senior stakeholders, and own the final call on contested decisions. Your impact is measured by the team's outcomes, not your individual output.\nYou'll also propel our AI-native way of working: our analysts already ship validated analyses through AI-assisted SQL, agentic workflows, and natural-language self-serve. You'll deepen that practice; building reusable AI assets the team adopts while holding a high bar for governance and quality, and operate with real autonomy over roadmap, priorities, partnering with a VP of Data and the Data Engineering team to deliver the BI team's mandate.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\n1. BI Leadership, Delivery & People Management\nOwn the BI team's backlog and outcomes: translate business needs into prioritised work, hold the team to its commitments, and own the final call on contested decisions.\n\nOwn mentoring and career development for everyone on the team: coaching, candid feedback, growth plans, and clear career paths from junior analysts to senior ICs.\n\nSet and uphold the quality bar for SQL, metrics, models, and analyses;\nStrong SQL and data analysis skills: this is a must\n\nBI analysts in StashAway are technical, covering the responsibilities of “Analytics Engineering” and traditional Business Intelligence dashboarding + business oriented data analysis (using git for version control, dbt for modelling)\n\nBaseline expectations are to have strong SQL skills and familiarity with methodologies around A/B testing, statistical significance and measuring experiments reliably\n\nRaise the team's autonomy so it runs day-to-day delivery and prioritisation itself, escalating only the strategic calls.\n\n2. AI & Analytics Strategy\nDefine the high-value analysis the team invests in versus reactive ad-hoc work, and shape where self-serve tooling fits within BI's scope.\n\nPropel an AI-native operating model: build reusable AI assets (prompts, agents, pipelines, workflows) that the whole team adopts.\n\nGovern agentic analytics with evals, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop gates so AI-generated analyses are validated and trusted before they reach stakeholders.\n\nDrive adoption of AI-powered self-serve analytics (e.g. natural-language analytics like Databricks Genie) to build company-wide analytics capability so functions can answer more of their own questions over time.\n\n3. Stakeholder Management & Business Partnership\nPartner with leaders across Product, Marketing, Operations, Finance and the executive team (among other departments) to align BI priorities with business strategy.\n\nOwn intake and prioritisation across inbound demand, protecting capacity for high-value work; manage capacity and present trade-offs clearly when priorities conflict.\n\nPublish and maintain a BI roadmap, and turn ambiguous requests into well-scoped problems.\n\nWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR\n1. Required Experience\nYou have directly managed analysts or data professionals as their people manager, owning their performance, growth, and delivery. This is a hard requirement; we are not considering first-time managers.\n\nA track record of developing people: mentoring and coaching analysts at different levels, with examples of individuals you have measurably grown or promoted.\n\nDemonstrated ability to drive team outcomes: owning a backlog, setting priorities, and delivering on commitments to stakeholders.\n\nStrong stakeholder leadership: partnering with senior business and executive stakeholders, managing expectations, and navigating conflicting priorities.\n\nDemonstrated AI-native leadership: you have built repeatable, reusable AI assets (prompts, agents, pipelines, workflows) that a team adopted, established a validation and quality bar for AI-generated analysis before it reached stakeholders, and driven measurable output or cycle-time gains from AI. Personal tool use alone is not sufficient.\n\nEnough hands-on SQL and data-modelling depth to set standards, review work, and make the call on contested modelling decisions, including leading a team that works with semantic layers and agentic analytics workflows.\n\nGenuine interest in investing, personal finance, or fintech, and the curiosity to ramp quickly on the domain.\n\n2. Preferred Experience\ndbt, semantic layers, and metric governance at scale.\n\nHas designed and operated agentic or MCP-backed analytics workflows in production, including evals, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop gates.\n\nPython for analysis, automation, or tooling.\n\nDomain experience in investing, wealth management, or fintech.\n\nROLE ACCOUNTABILITY\nThe Head of BI is accountable for the performance, quality, and growth of the Business Intelligence team: its backlog and priorities, the rigour and impact of its analyses, the adoption of AI-native and self-serve ways of working, and the development of every person on the team.\n\nThis includes direct accountability for the performance, growth, retention, and development of every team member, measured by the team's outcomes and the decisions BI enables, not by individual output.\n\nIn return, the role carries real authority: you own the team's roadmap and priorities, hold development authority for the team, partner with the VP
