This position is responsible for providing high-quality classroom and hands-on laboratory instruction in carpentry and construction-related skills, including instruction delivered through the college’s on-campus facilities and mobile carpentry training trailer.\nThe successful candidate will develop and deliver engaging lesson plans, provide hands-on demonstrations, and create a student-centered learning environment that prepares students for success in the construction industry. The instructor will evaluate student progress toward course goals, objectives, and student learning outcomes while ensuring instruction aligns with industry standards and workforce needs. This position is full-time/exempt.\nPlease note the following information regarding this position:\nWill be required to teach high school students.\nWill require teaching on or off campus throughout our service delivery area (Muscogee County, Stewart County, Quitman County, Chattahoochee County, Harris County, and Talbot County)\nWill require travel.\nResponsibilities:\nProvide classroom and hands-on instruction in Carpentry/Cabinetmaking skills, techniques, and industry practices\nDevelop and deliver instructional materials in accordance with state curriculum standards, program outcomes, course outlines, goals, and objectives\nEvaluate student progress and performance in achieving course competencies, learning outcomes, and program objectives\nDevelop effective teaching strategies, maintain accurate instructional documentation, and implement methods that support student learning and success\nRequest, maintain, and inventory instructional supplies, tools, equipment, and materials; assist with budget planning and resource requests\nEnsure training areas, tools, and equipment meet safety and security requirements while promoting a safe learning environment\nAdvise and support students by addressing academic, technical, and career-related concerns impacting their success\nCollaborate with faculty, staff, administrators, industry partners, and other educators regarding student progress, instructional programs, and workforce needs\nAssist with student recruitment, retention, completion, and job placement initiatives\nParticipate in professional development activities to remain current with construction industry practices, instructional strategies, and emerging technologies\nDemonstrate strong time management, organizational, and planning skills\nUtilize effective written and oral communication skills to engage students, colleagues, and industry partners\nApply strong observation, supervision, and evaluation skills in classroom and laboratory environments\nUtilize general computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and other instructional technology platforms\nPerform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned\nMinimum Qualifications:\nDiploma, certificate, or credential in Carpentry/Cabinetmaking or closely related field from an accredited college or technical institution\n-OR-\nMinimum of 3 years’ work experience in the Carpentry/Cabinetmaking field\nSalary/Benefits:\nSalary is commensurate with experience.
