The selected candidate will communicate with users to determine system needs, research requested enhancements, perform design and analysis of computer systems, and perform related work as assigned. This individual will perform these duties for new and existing programs from various agencies within the State.\nThe candidate will work with personnel from other agencies to help support their solutions. They will participate in the full range of software product development activities, including requirements gathering; analysis and definition; functional and technical design; coding and testing; implementation, and production support. This person will also be working with less experienced developers to train them on tools and techniques that are used by the team. This person will be required to be on call off-hours to assist with issues that may arise outside of normal work hours.\nThis person will need an understanding of how data is passed between web applications and mainframe applications, and issues that could arise in those communications. This person will be working on multiple projects at once and will need to have the ability to prioritize projects to meet project goals.\nRequirements / Qualifications\nMinimum Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering or other related field and two years of experience, education, or training in coding computer applications; programming experience can be substituted for education on a year for year basis.\nPreferred Qualifications: Experience using Cobol, JCL, DB2, Compuware Topaz Workbench. Preference for experience in governmental billing systems.\nOther: Regular and Reliable attendance is required.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong analytical problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail. Excellent communication skills; written and verbal. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot errors. Ability to mentor teammates.
