WORK LOCATION: SECRETARY OF STATE/DOWNTOWN RALEIGH LOCATION

THE POSTING WILL CLOSE AT 11:59 P.M. THE NIGHT BEFORE THE END DATE

This position is located in the Registration Services phone unit of the Secretary of State's office. The duties and responsibilities of this position include providing information for business registration and annual report filings; determining name availability for new companies, processing custom document orders, provide information for Notary Public Commissioning, Uniform Commercial Code and Federal Tax Liens filings. Technical and statutory information on filing procedures for the programs listed above is provided by this position. The majority of the service is provided to customers by telephone and the remainder is provided through e-mail, voice mail and written correspondence.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/AND ABILITIES:

  • Customer service experience in a call center

  • Excellent communication skills, i.e. drafting memos, receptionist

  • Experience in managing multiple tasks

  • Communicating statutory requirements, such as communicating laws and regulationsapplicable to business filing, notary public, and uniform commercial code

  • Computer proficient with Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, etc.), and other Windows based applications, and data entry skills.

  • Ability to work independently and without direct supervision
