You must apply by 11:59 PM prior to the posted closing date.This is an anticipated vacancy.\nThe primary purpose of this position is to provide exceptional customer service at the Raleigh Central Services Office by assisting customers with the registration of vehicles in the State of North Carolina. This position requires strong technical, administrative, and customer service skills, as well as extensive knowledge of the North Carolina General Statutes, policies, and procedures governing the issuance of North Carolina titles and other official credentials.\nKey Responsibilities\nAssist customers with vehicle registrations, title transactions, and the issuance of other North Carolina credentials.\nApply and interpret applicable North Carolina General Statutes, policies, and procedures related to motor vehicle titles and registrations.\nIssue official, special, and personalized license plates in accordance with established requirements.\nProcess requests for crash reports and provide customers with access to driving and vehicle registration records while adhering to applicable Federal Privacy Act requirements and confidentiality guidelines.\nAccept and process payments for driver license penalties, fees, and other applicable transactions.\nProvide accurate, courteous, and professional service to customers while ensuring transactions are completed efficiently and in compliance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures.\nPerform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the manager to support the effective and efficient operation of the unit.\nThe program area for this position includes one or more of the following: working knowledge of DMV general statutes, policies and procedures, and/or working knowledge of vehicle registration procedures.\nKnowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences\nSalary Grade and Salary Range: NC08 $39,244 - $68,679\nManagement prefers applicants with the following:\nExperience with a personal computer and mainframe database.\nExperience using a calculator, workstation laser printer, fax machine & copier.\nExperience recording, compiling, summarizing & analyzing data.\nExperience examining titles, reviewing information to determine compliance with applicable laws, rules, or regulations to resolve a complex or special processing matter.\nExperience explaining & interpreting policies, regulations, & programs; and balancing a cash drawer.\nMinimum Education and Experience\nSome state job postings say you can qualify by an “equivalent combination of education and experience.” If that language appears below, then you may qualify through EITHER years of education OR years of directly related experience, OR a combination of both.
