This position is time-limited, grant funded, and full-time. Funding for this position will end on December 31, 2028.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Purpose: The North Carolina Multidisciplinary Anti-Human Trafficking Team is an initiative led by the NC State Bureau of Investigation, NC Conference of District Attorneys, and Safe Alliance to strengthen human trafficking investigations and victim support throughout North Carolina. Among other positions, the initiative is bolstered by special agents, financial investigators, and a special resource prosecutor dedicated to improving case outcomes, while expanding crisis response, counseling, and advocacy services for trafficking survivors. The initiative also promotes statewide collaboration through joint investigations, training, public awareness, and development of critical partnerships, all geared toward prioritizing anti trafficking efforts across the state.

This position requires travel across North Carolina to assist prosecutors, law enforcement, and allied professionals in various districts, making adaptability and independence essential.

The Training Coordinator will support the statewide Multidisciplinary Anti-Human Trafficking Team (MDT) dedicated to combating sex and labor trafficking. The MDT currently consists of prosecutors, law enforcement officers, victim service providers, and legal service partners who collaborate to identify trafficking, support survivors, and pursue accountability across North Carolina. This position will streamline, organize, and manage all training-related operations for the MDT, ensuring that the team’s subject-matter experts are supported in delivering high-quality, trauma-informed, and evidence-based training to internal and external stakeholders. The Training Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for all training requests, scheduling, logistics, tracking, and resource management. The role requires exceptional communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with professionals across multiple disciplines.

Work Environment

• This role may involve occasional travel within the state for training events.

• Some evening or weekend hours may be required depending on training schedules.

• Position reports to the Executive Director of the NC Conference of District Attorneys or her designee and works closely with MDT members, partner agencies, and foundation personnel as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities / Competencies

Training Request Management and Coordination

• Serve as the central coordinator for all incoming training requests to the MDT.

• Evaluate requests for alignment with MDT goals, availability of presenters, and resource needs.

• Maintain and manage the MDT’s training calendar, including scheduling, confirmations, and follow-up.

• Communicate with requesting agencies, organizations, and partners regarding expectations, logistics, and deliverables.

Training Development Support

• Provide administrative, organizational, and logistical support to MDT subject-matter experts during the development of new trainings.

• Assist with timelines, content organization, and presentation materials.

• Ensure that all training materials meet grant requirements, accessibility standards, and MDT quality expectations.

• Manage storage and dissemination of training materials, handouts, and digital resources.

Training Delivery Logistics

• Coordinate all travel, venue arrangements, A/V needs, registration processes, and onsite logistics for in-person and virtual trainings.

• Support trainers during live events as needed (e.g., registration, materials distribution, technology setup).

• Facilitate evaluation surveys, attendance tracking, and post-training documentation.

Data, Reporting, and Compliance

• Track all training activities, attendees, outputs, and impact metrics required by the Howard G. Buffett Foundation and other stakeholders.

• Prepare regular reports summarizing training activity, trends, and resource demands.

• Maintain organized documentation consistent with grant compliance and MDT operational standards.

Relationship Management

• Serve as a liaison between MDT members and external partners regarding training-related communication.

• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with statewide and regional agencies, advocacy groups, and professional organizations.

• Represent the MDT professionally in communications with community partners.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience in program coordination, training administration, criminal justice, social services, or a related field.

Management Preferences:

• Experience coordinating trainings, programs, or events for multidisciplinary or public-sector teams is strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• High comfort level with technology, including presentation platforms, video-conferencing software, shared drives, and database systems.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to the dynamics of trauma, victimization, and culturally informed practice.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to the mission of combating human trafficking and supporting collaborative, victim-centered responses.
