The Agricultural Safety and Health (ASH) Bureau’s primary purpose is to ensure the safety and health of agricultural workers in the state. The Bureau enforces the Migrant Housing Act of North Carolina and the Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Agriculture (29 CFR Part 1928). The Bureau performs preoccupancy inspections of migrant housing, conducts compliance inspections to identify safety and health hazards in the workplace, provides bilingual educational training programs for agricultural employers and their workers, and recognizes agricultural employers who provide exemplary migrant housing through the Gold Star Grower program. \nThis position provides a variety of administrative support services for the Agricultural Safety and Health Bureau.
