IT Business Analysis

IT Business Analysis (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Quincy, MA): Will implement applications that synthesize data from State Street’s varied trading and reference systems, perform simulation, pricing, and aggregation, and report the results for regulatory and risk management purposes. Works with a team of geographically distributed developers to deliver solutions to State Street business problems in the risk domain, and is expected to be “on-call” to be an escalation contact if there are production failures. Specific duties of the position include: analyzing and implementing fault tolerant architectures to optimize operational resiliency for both batch and real-time environments; working with business users and IT to define Functional specifications and prioritize stories based on product roadmap; working with the business and development teams to define requirements , product backlog and documentation; translating the business requirements into functional specifications; working with SQA and Development teams on delivery of fixes and enhancements; troubleshooting and resolving issues quickly and efficiently; analyzing data using Python/SQL queries and write the functional specification documentation; working on multiple initiatives simultaneously and running meetings to explain and walk through business needs; providing post production support and maintenance; liaising with Scrum masters , business/system analyst and software engineers to assists in resolving system issues; participating in Daily stand ups , iteration planning , product demos and retrospective meetings; coordinating and collaborating with team and stake holders as necessary in furtherance of project and support goals; ensuring that the test case scenarios, test cases and feature files connect between the business requirements and system service. Hybrid telecommuting permitted pursuant to company policy.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another directly related technical field and 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer or other occupation providing relevant experience.

Total experience must include the following: demonstrated experience analyzing and testing fault tolerant architectures to optimize operational resiliency for both batch and real-time environments; demonstrated experience in Agile development methodology and scrum master skills in engineering teams; proven knowledge of Proof-of-concept development in the areas of statistical processing of large volume numeric data, in-memory aggregation; demonstrated experience understanding the structure of existing systems to figure out means of accomplishing tactical and strategic business objectives within aggressive timelines; demonstrated experience in analyzing and validating large volume data processing frameworks; demonstrated experience in analyzing data using Python/SQL queries and writing the functional specification documentation; proven knowledge of databases, ETL and UNIX systems.
