You will shape architecture, improve engineering execution, and help evolve a platform that supports both State Street and its enterprise clients.\nKey Responsibilities:\nOwn the technical direction and successful delivery of significant Alpha Data Platform capabilities.\nLead execution across the complete software development lifecycle, from architecture and design through deployment and production support.\nPartner with Product Management to translate business and client priorities into a clear, executable engineering roadmap.\nDesign scalable, maintainable solutions for complex enterprise data and platform requirements.\nGuide architectural decisions that improve scalability, performance, resilience, security, and operability.\nProvide technical leadership on complex system-design decisions and critical engineering challenges.\nBuild and develop a high-performing engineering team by hiring, mentoring, and growing engineers and team leads.\nPromote engineering excellence through modern development practices, automation, testing, observability, and continuous improvement.\nCollaborate across engineering, architecture, client delivery, and support teams on strategic initiatives and critical client needs.\nWhat we are looking for:\nRequired qualifications:\n· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n· 15+ years of software-engineering experience, including experience leading teams responsible for enterprise-scale production systems.\n· Strong technical expertise in Java, distributed systems, and database design.\n· Demonstrated success designing and delivering scalable, reliable, high-quality platforms.\n· Experience with cloud-native architectures, event-driven systems, and modern software-engineering practices.\n· Proven ability to hire, mentor, develop, and lead strong technical teams.\n· Strong communication, collaboration, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.\n· Ability to balance strategic technical direction with pragmatic delivery.\nPreferred qualifications:\n· Experience developing data platforms or other large-scale, data-intensive systems.\n· Experience with AI-assisted engineering practices and the thoughtful application of AI within software delivery.\n· Experience in financial services.\nWhy this role matters\nYou will have the opportunity to influence the evolution of a strategic enterprise platform, develop talented engineering teams, and deliver capabilities that help internal teams and enterprise clients use trusted data to make better and faster decisions.\nMinimum Salary:\nzł282 000 AnnualThe minimum salary quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified.
