CRD is modernizing and expanding its platform with cloud-native technologies.\nAs a UI Developer II, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of user-facing applications across one or more Charles River or Alpha platform modules. You will work as part of an Agile engineering team, partnering with engineers, business analysts, product managers, and other teams to deliver clear, reliable solutions to complex business problems. This individual-contributor role works with moderate supervision and provides engineering support to customer-support and development teams when needed.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, test, debug, and maintain user interfaces and single-page applications, primarily using React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.\nContribute to small- and medium-sized enhancements and solutions within the platform's business and technical domains.\nCollaborate with engineers, business analysts, and product partners to turn requirements into practical, maintainable software.\nWrite and maintain unit and automation tests; conduct manual testing to help ensure product quality.\nParticipate in code reviews, offering constructive feedback and incorporating feedback on your own work.\nTroubleshoot software issues and help resolve problems reported by customer-support or other development teams.\nParticipate in the Agile development process, including stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.\nCoordinate with teammates across functions as needed to complete assignments.\nKeep current with relevant UI engineering practices and technologies.\nRequired qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field; a master's degree is a plus.\n2-5 years of progressively responsible professional software engineering experience.\nDemonstrated experience building and maintaining web user interfaces with JavaScript or TypeScript; professional React experience is strongly preferred.\nWorking knowledge of object-oriented programming, data structures, and software development fundamentals.\nExperience developing, debugging, and testing software, and contributing to projects of small-to-medium scope with moderate supervision.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.\nPreferred qualifications\nExperience with React application architecture, reusable component or package development, and state-management approaches such as Redux or RxJS.\nFamiliarity with front-end testing tools such as Jest, Cypress, or Jasmine.\nFamiliarity with Node.js and package managers such as npm or Yarn.\nExperience with Agile software development and code-review practices.\nFamiliarity with relational databases and SQL.\nExposure to cloud-native development, especially Microsoft Azure, or to technologies such as Kafka, Kubernetes, or Snowflake.\nExperience in financial technology or knowledge of investment-management workflows such as portfolio management, trading, compliance, post-trade, IBOR, or wealth management.\nFamiliarity with Java or C#/.NET.\nSalary Range:\n$70,000 - $118,750 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified.
