Whether it’s 24 hours, 48 hours, or just a few hours, we’re reinventing the way people experience the cities they call home.\nToday, Staycation means:\n5 million users in France, the UK, Spain, Belgium and Switzerland\n\n4,000 partner hotels among the best 4, 5 and iconic palaces\n\n⭐ 9.3/10 average rating for our experiences\n\nJoining Staycation means becoming part of a passionate, creative, and ambitious team on a quest to redefine what hospitality and city life can be.\nThe role\nWe’re hiring a Fullstack Developer to strengthen our Product & Engineering team.\nYou’ll join one of our cross-functional product squads, working closely with a Lead Developer, a Product Manager, a Product Designer and other Fullstack Developers.\nYour role will be to turn user problems into reliable product increments, contribute from discovery to production, and balance impact, speed, quality and maintainability.\nWe’re open to both experienced and senior individual contributors, and we’ll calibrate the scope based on what you have already owned and delivered. You may be stronger in either frontend or backend, but you should be genuinely comfortable contributing across both and motivated to keep growing on the full stack.\nYou’ll report to the Lead Developer of your squad and be part of the Product team led by Robin, our CTO & Head of Product.\nKey responsibilities\nDesign, build, test, deploy and monitor product features across the frontend and backend.\n\nWork closely with Product Management and Product Design from the problem-definition stage, helping shape the solution rather than simply implementing a finished specification.\n\nBreak down projects into clear increments, estimate your work, identify dependencies and risks, and communicate early when the plan needs to change.\n\nTake ownership of what you ship in production, from instrumentation and monitoring to incident diagnosis and continuous improvement.\n\nContribute to high-quality code reviews, pragmatic testing strategies, refactoring and the active management of technical debt.\n\nDocument decisions, share knowledge and help improve our engineering practices and codebase over time.\n\nDepending on your level, plan multi-week projects, design architectures that others can implement and introduce practices that continue to work without you in the loop.\n\nOur tech environment\nFour products running on a shared stack:\nThe website (React / Next.js), our storefront and booking funnel.\n\nThe mobile app (React Native), used daily by our users, with its own release cycles and performance stakes.\n\nThe hotel extranet, where our partners manage their offers, inventory, bookings, billing, timeslots.\n\nThe internal admin platform, the tool our teams use to run the marketplace.\n\nOn the back-end side: micro-services in NestJS and more, PostgreSQL for our databases, hosted on AWS with Terraform.\nKey results\nIn your first 3 months, you’ll be expected to:\nUnderstand your squad’s product mission, users, metrics and main technical flows.\n\nBecome familiar with our stack, codebase, rituals and path to production.\n\nShip a first end-to-end increment and monitor its performance in production.\n\nContribute useful code reviews and identify at least one relevant technical risk or improvement.\n\nBuild reliable working relationships with Engineering, Product Management and Product Design.\n\nIn your first 12 months, you’ll be expected to:\nOwn a meaningful product and technical scope within your squad.\n\nHave contributed to a measurable product outcome for our users and the business.\n\nDeliver reliably, surface risks early and make sound trade-offs between speed, quality and reversibility.\n\nHave improved at least one engineering practice or part of the codebase in a way that benefits the wider team.\n\nAt senior level, have planned and driven a multi-week project or designed an architecture successfully implemented by others.\n\nLocation\nThis position is open to candidates based anywhere in France, with two possible working arrangements:\nIf you are based in the Paris region, you will work in a hybrid setup, with three days per week at our Paris office.\n\nIf you are based elsewhere in France, you can you:\nMust-haves\nHave at least 5 years of professional software development experience, with a track record of shipping and owning meaningful product features.\n\nHave real experience contributing to both frontend and backend development, even if one side is currently stronger.\n\nHave solid experience with React/Next.js or a comparable modern frontend stack, as well as building APIs and working with data using Node.js or a comparable backend stack.\n\nHave good knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL.\n\nCan take a feature from an ambiguous problem to a reliable production release, making pragmatic technical and product trade-offs along the way.\n\nCare about code quality, testing, maintainability and production reliability without losing sight of delivery and user impact.\n\nCommunicate clearly, collaborate without ego and are comfortable working closely with Product and Design.\n\nAre autonomous and reliable in a distributed team, while knowing when to ask for context, feedback or support.\n\nNice-to-haves\nExperience with React Native.\n\nExperience working on a B2C product, marketplace, mobile application, booking or payment journey.\n\nPrevious experience working
