The nature of the work requires that the candidate demonstrate initiative, organization, responsibility, customer service skills, and the ability to be flexible and adaptive to a fast-paced, growing and fluid business environment. Helps to improve efficiencies across the Human Resources department through creation of reports, resolution of issues, and monitoring/tracking of business processes related to the team to recommend improvements. The candidate must be able to communicate professionally, effectively and decisively with all levels of the organization, and be able to solve practical problems as well as exercise sound judgement with regard to sensitive and confidential information.\nContributions\nContributions:\nIdentify, prioritize, and monitor system and process improvement opportunities, and partner with the team to implement them.\nSupport HRIS transaction processing and administration to ensure timely and accurate updates.\nValidate data accuracy, run reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies; maintain system documentation and process maps.\nConduct employee new hire orientation and help organize training and development initiatives.\nMaintain onboarding workflows to deliver a consistent, positive experience for every new hire.\nAssist in coordinating HR programs and events, such as performance reviews, benefit and policy updates, company surveys, and additional initiatives as needed.\nMaintain accurate employee records, files, and confidential HR correspondence.\nPrepare executive facing reports and presentations and assist with company-wide communications.\nSupport integration, migration, and cleanup of employee data across HR systems (ADP WorkforceNow, iCIMS, Fresh Service, and related tools).\nAdapt to evolving business needs by taking on additional responsibilities as required.\n2-3 days in office Steampunk office in McLean, VA - additional availability as required\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\n3-4 years of human resources experience, ideally including onboarding, HRIS administration, or integration/transition projects.\nB.A. or B.S., or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nExperience working with HRIS and ATS platforms.\nProject management skills: planning, tracking, and delivering against deadlines with multiple stakeholders.\nStrong interpersonal, writing, and communication skills.\nDetail and action oriented, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently.\nExperience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel (data analysis and reconciliation).\nWorking knowledge of Human Resources principles and employment compliance.\nInterest in learning new skills and ability to pick things up quickly.\nLocal to the DMV area; in the McLean, VA office 2-3 days per week.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with iCIMS, ADP WorkforceNow, and Fresh Service.\nPHR, SHRM-CP, or project management certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM).\nExperience in government contracting or a professional services environment.\nExperience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or organizational change.\nAbout steampunk\nSteampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
