We are looking for more than just a \"Senior Data Engineer\", we need a technologist with excellent communication and customer service skills and a passion for data and problem solving.\nContributions\nLead and architect the migration of data environments with a focus on performance and reliability.\nAssess and understand ETL jobs, workflows, BI tools, and reports.\nAddress technical inquiries concerning customization, integration, enterprise architecture, and general features and functionality of data products.\nDesign and develop database and data warehouse solutions in cloud environments leveraging platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.\nDesign, develop, and optimize scalable data solutions using Databricks.\nSupport an Agile software development lifecycle.\nYou will contribute to the growth of our Data Exploitation Practice!\nQualifications\nAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.\n\nBachelor's degree.\n\n5-7 years of direct experience in Data Engineering, including experience with tools such as:\nBig data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.\n\nRelational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres and Cassandra.\n\nData pipeline and workflow management tools: Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow, etc.\n\nCloud services across AWS, Azure, or GCP.\n\nData streaming systems: Storm, Spark-Streaming, etc.\n\nSearch tools: Solr, Lucene, Elasticsearch.\n\nProgramming and scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc.\n\nAdvanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring and optimization (SQL), as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.\n\nExperience with message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores.\n\nExperience manipulating and processing large, disconnected structured and unstructured datasets to support analysis and extract value.\n\nExperience constructing complex queries to analyze results using databases or in a data processing development environment.\n\nExperience with data modeling tools and processes.\n\nExperience architecting transactional data systems and data warehouses.\n\nExperience aggregating results and/or compiling information for reporting from multiple datasets.\n\nExperience working in an Agile environment.\n\nExperience supporting project teams of developers and data scientists building web-based interfaces, dashboards, reports, and analytics/machine learning models.\n\nAbout steampunk\nSteampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $125,000 to $165,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
