The ServiceNow Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, configuring, and implementing solutions within the ServiceNow platform to support enterprise workflows, IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), Customer Service Management (CSM), and other platform capabilities. This role works closely with product owners, business analysts, and technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, and user-friendly ServiceNow applications that meet organizational and customer requirements. The ServiceNow Developer ensures platform stability, maintains best practices, and supports continuous improvement across the ServiceNow ecosystem.\nContributions\nResponsibilities:\nDesign, develop, and implement solutions that will integrate with the ServiceNow platform, including Microsoft Power BI, custom applications, workflows, and automation.\nDevelop and maintain client scripts, business rules, UI policies, UI actions, script includes, and other server/client-side components.\nCreate and manage flows, subflows, and automation using Flow Designer and ServiceNow best practices.\nCustomize and develop Service Catalog items, record producers, workflows, and request fulfillment processes.\nEvaluate and optimize Service Catalog items and workflows.\nSupport data management activities including data loads, transform maps, and XML imports/exports.\nDevelop process maps and documentation depicting workflows and cross-functional processes.\nWork with process owners to document current processes and redesign workflows involving ServiceNow to improve efficiency.\nTranslate requirements into fully functional features by collaborating with team leads and stakeholders.\nDevelop and maintain dashboards and reports for performance monitoring and analytics.\nSupport ongoing implementation, change management, and documentation activities.\nUtilize Agile methodologies and maintain Dev-Test-Prod pipelines for ServiceNow integrations and development.\nDevelop and maintain REST/SOAP integrations between ServiceNow and external systems.\nCollaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define solutions, and provide expert platform guidance.\nMaintain platform documentation, including technical specifications, configuration records, and architectural diagrams.\nEnsure all development adheres to security, compliance, and coding best practices.\nQualifications\nAbility to obtain and maintain a Security clearance.\nBachelors degree and 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.\n3+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience, including scripting (JavaScript), integrations, and module configuration. \nStrong understanding of core ServiceNow applications: Incident, Problem, Change, Request, CMDB, and Knowledge.\nExperience developing scripts and components such as business rules, client scripts, script includes, UI policies, UI actions, and scheduled jobs.\nHands-on experience with Flow Designer, Workflow Editor, and Service Catalog development.\nExperience creating and consuming REST and SOAP APIs for integrations.\nKnowledge of relational databases, data modeling, and CMDB structure.\nUnderstanding of ServiceNow security concepts including ACLs and role-based access. \nStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nServiceNow Certified Systems Administrator (CSA) or similar certification.\nPreferred:\nOne or more additional ServiceNow certifications, such as:Certified Application Developer (CAD)\nITSM, ITOM, CSM micro-certifications\nDiscovery or Service Mapping certifications\n\nExperience supporting environments in federal or regulated settings.\nExperience with ITOM, CMDB enrichment, or event/discovery tools.\nExperience with HRSD, CSM, SecOps, IRM, or custom application development.\nHands-on experience with Microsoft PowerApps.\nAbout steampunk\nSteampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $85,000 to $170,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
