The ideal candidate brings strong industrial controls and electrical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for driving successful project execution and customer satisfaction.TRAVEL: 60-80% / Variable, dependent on site location\nKey Responsibilities\nLead Site Execution\nServe as SSI’s primary on-site leader for electrical and controls installation projects.\nDirect daily field activities for SSI team members and installation partners.\nDrive installation readiness, work planning, issue resolution, and execution performance.\nEnsure all work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements.\nCoordinate closely with project managers, engineers, customers, contractors, and other trades to maintain project momentum.\nManage Installation Partners\nLead and oversee subcontracted electrical installation teams performing SSI work.\nEnsure partners understand project scope, priorities, installation sequencing, and quality expectations.\nMonitor productivity, workmanship, staffing levels, schedule performance, and punch list completion.\nAddress performance concerns quickly and drive corrective actions when needed.\nVerify all installation work aligns with SSI standards and customer requirements.\nSupport and Develop Field Service Teams\nProvide leadership and support to SSI field service technicians and site specialists.\nEstablish clear expectations for troubleshooting, reporting, customer interaction, documentation, and project closeout.\nDevelop and improve standard work procedures, checklists, and field best practices.\nParticipate in hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance development of field personnel.\nProvide Hands-On Technical Leadership\nSupport critical field activities, including:Electrical and controls troubleshooting\nPanel inspections and quality audits\nInstallation verification and point-to-point validation\nPower-up and I/O checkout activities\nField modifications and corrective action planning\nStartup, qualification, and turnover readiness\n\nLead resolution efforts for high-risk or high-visibility technical issues.\nProvide expert guidance on controls hardware, device installation, electrical systems, network architecture, and field implementation.\nDrive Quality and Project Turnover\nChampion field quality standards throughout installation and startup.\nEnsure accurate maintenance of redlines, as-builts, quality records, issue logs, and project documentation.\nCoordinate qualification activities, including verification of:Component installation\nCable terminations\nPanel readiness\nNetwork connectivity\nDevice installation\nI/O testing\nPower distribution systems\n\nSupport turnover package preparation and final customer acceptance activities.\nDrive punch list completion and minimize rework before project closeout.\nBuild Strong Customer Relationships\nServe as a key point of contact for customers, site operations teams, general contractors, and trade partners.\nCommunicate project progress, risks, challenges, and recovery plans clearly and professionally.\nParticipate in daily coordination meetings, site reviews, and turnover readiness discussions.\nBuild credibility through strong technical expertise and professional leadership.\nIdentify emerging customer needs and relay opportunities and risks to project leadership.\nPromote Safety and Compliance\nEnforce SSI safety standards, including PPE requirements, LOTO procedures, stop-work authority, and safe work practices.\nEnsure compliance with customer and site-specific safety requirements.\nSupport project-specific environmental, health, and safety plans.\nPartner with safety personnel to maintain a strong safety culture.\nEscalate unsafe conditions, code concerns, or unauthorized work immediately.\nSupport Pre-Mobilization and Installation Planning\nContribute to project planning before site mobilization, including:Labor and staffing plans\nSubcontractor coordination\nTool and equipment planning\nSite access and badge preparation\nTemporary power planning\nMaterial staging and logistics\nWork package readiness\n\nReview project designs for constructability and identify execution risks early.\nProvide practical field feedback to engineering and project teams to improve installation efficiency and reduce project risk.\nWhat Success Looks Like\nA successful candidate is a hands-on field leader who can balance technical expertise, customer engagement, installation quality, and team leadership. This individual drives projects safely, resolves challenges proactively, holds installation partners accountable, and ensures SSI projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.\nRequired Qualifications\n7+ years of experience in industrial automation, electrical installation, controls field execution, commissioning, or field service in complex industrial environments.\n3+ years of experience leading field teams, subcontractors, or site execution activities.\nStrong experience reading and applying:\n electrical schematics\n panel drawings\n device layouts\n network drawings\n installation packages\nStrong field knowledge of industrial controls and electrical systems, including PLC-based automation environments.\nAbility to manage subcontractors and hold standards for safety, quality, schedule, and documentation.\nAbility to troubleshoot field execution issues logically and drive practical solutions under schedule pressure.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with customers, field teams, and internal stakeholders.\nWillingness and ability to travel extensively to project sites.\nLOTO (required)\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in material handling, parcel, distribution, or warehouse automation environments.\nExperience with Rockwell-based systems; Siemens and other platforms are a plus.\nExperience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Procure, or equivalent.\nExposure to commissioning, qualification, turnover, and startup support processes.\nExperience working with third-party electrical contractors on large industrial projects.\nFamiliarity with AutoCAD Electrical, redlines, as-builts, and field-driven document feedback.\nOSHA 10OR 30, NFPA 70E, and LOTO training/certification.\nWhat Sets You Apart\nYou are a hands-on leader who thrives in the field, enjoys solving technical challenges, and can confidently lead teams through complex installations.
