This role focuses on the day-to-day engineering of secure, automated cloud environments that host claims intake, processing, and adjudication workloads.\nThe engineer will work directly with solutions architects, security engineers, data teams, and platform owners to provision infrastructure as code, automate containerized application delivery, and keep production environments reliable, compliant, and observable.\nThis is a hands-on role. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating containerized workloads on AWS, writes infrastructure as code, automates repetitive operational work, and methodically troubleshoots networking, identity, and compute issues in a regulated cloud.\nSteerBridge operates in AWS GovCloud and applies hardened, STIG-aligned baselines and automated CI/CD pipelines to deliver infrastructure that meets federal security and authorization (ATO) expectations. Cloud engineers keep these systems running and continuously improve their automation, resilience, and cost efficiency.\nThis is a hybrid position based in Vienna, VA.\nKey Responsibilties\nProvision and manage AWS GovCloud infrastructure, including ECS, Fargate, VPC networking, S3, IAM, and ECR, using Terraform and Terragrunt.\n\nBuild and operate containerized workloads on ECS and Fargate, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, STIG-hardened baselines, and container image pipelines.\n\nMonitor production environments with CloudWatch, tune logging, metrics, and alarms to reduce alert noise, and participate in on-call rotation and incident response.\n\nTroubleshoot networking, DNS, identity, and compute issues across hub-and-spoke, traffic-inspected environments, and drive improvements in reliability, performance, and cost.\n\nApply least-privilege IAM policies and support zero-trust network access and secure connectivity for application and administrative access.\n\nRemediate security findings with the security team and support audit, compliance, and ATO activities with accurate documentation and evidence.\n\nPartner with architects and security engineers to implement designs, and participate in design reviews, backlog refinement, and sprint planning.\n\nDocument infrastructure, runbooks, and automation for the broader team.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nEligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship is required for this position under applicable federal contract requirements.
