Stocks Inland is seeking an experienced, proactive and highly organised Facility Manager to join the project team on a large-scale Multi-Disciplinary Construction Project in Gauteng.Key Responsibilities\nSite Facilities Management\nTake overall responsibility for the effective management of project facilities and site support services.\nCoordinate the establishment, maintenance and ongoing operation of site offices, meeting rooms, ablution facilities, change rooms, eating areas and other welfare facilities.\nEnsure facilities are maintained in a safe, clean, functional and professional condition.\nCoordinate repairs, maintenance and general upkeep of project facilities.\nConduct regular facility inspections and ensure identified defects or concerns are addressed promptly.\nEnsure adequate office furniture, equipment and general facility requirements are available.\nCoordinate temporary facility requirements as the project develops and workforce numbers change.\nSite Logistics & Coordination\nCoordinate and support day-to-day site logistics requirements.\nAssist with the planning and coordination of designated delivery, loading, off-loading, storage and laydown areas.\nWork with construction teams to minimise congestion and logistical disruptions.\nAssist in managing traffic flow and designated vehicle areas within the project requirements.\nCoordinate the movement and positioning of temporary facilities and project support infrastructure.\nLiaise with relevant departments regarding material deliveries and major logistical requirements.\nMonitor logistical constraints and proactively escalate risks which may impact project operations.\nSupport mobilisation and demobilisation activities throughout the project lifecycle.\nFacility Services & Service Providers\nManage and coordinate relevant facility service providers, which may include:\nCleaning services\nWaste management\nPest control\nPortable toilets and sanitation services\nDrinking water and water supply\nOffice and welfare facility maintenance\nTemporary facility suppliers\nSecurity support services\nParking and transport-related services\nGeneral site services\nThe Facility Manager will monitor service levels and ensure contractors meet agreed quality, safety and performance standards.\nHousekeeping & Waste Management\nDrive and maintain a high standard of housekeeping across common project areas.\nCoordinate waste collection and removal services.\nEnsure waste and recycling areas are appropriately managed.\nConduct regular inspections of offices, common areas, welfare facilities and external areas.\nEscalate persistent housekeeping concerns to the responsible management teams.\nWork closely with Health & Safety and Construction teams to promote a clean, orderly and professional project environment.\nSite Offices & Welfare Facilities\nEnsure office and welfare facilities remain operational and appropriately resourced.\nMonitor cleaning standards and maintenance requirements.\nManage office moves, workspace allocations and facility changes where required.\nCoordinate requirements for meeting rooms, furniture, equipment and common-use areas.\nMonitor the condition and availability of ablution and welfare facilities.\nPlan facility requirements in line with changes in workforce numbers and project phases.\nAccess, Parking & Security Coordination\nWork closely with Security and Health & Safety teams regarding site access arrangements.\nAssist with the coordination of parking areas and vehicle movement.\nSupport the establishment and management of designated pedestrian and vehicle routes.\nCoordinate access and facility requirements for visitors, contractors and project stakeholders where required.\nEscalate security, access or traffic-related concerns to the appropriate responsible parties.\nContractor & Supplier Management\nCoordinate service providers and contractors responsible for facility-related services.\nEnsure contractors comply with site rules, project requirements and applicable Health & Safety standards.\nMonitor contractor performance and service delivery.\nVerify services performed and escalate performance concerns.\nAssist with obtaining quotations and evaluating facility-related service requirements.\nLiaise with Procurement and Commercial teams regarding purchase orders, contracts and supplier requirements.\nMonitor facility-related expenditure against approved budgets.\nHealth, Safety & Compliance\nWork closely with the project Health & Safety team to ensure facility and logistical activities are conducted safely.\nEnsure facility contractors comply with project H&S requirements.\nIdentify facility-related hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.\nParticipate in inspections and audits where required.\nEnsure emergency access routes and common areas remain unobstructed.\nAssist with maintaining suitable emergency arrangements across project facilities.\nPromote safe working practices and a strong safety culture amongst service providers.\nCost Control & Administration\nAssist with preparing and managing the facilities operating budget.\nMonitor facility-related costs and identify opportunities for improved efficiency.\nMaintain records of service providers, contracts, inspections and maintenance activities.\nMaintain facility and logistics trackers.\nVerify invoices and supporting documentation where required.\nPrepare regular facility and logistics reports for project management.\nMaintain accurate documentation for audit and project close-out purposes.\nMinimum Requirements:\nQualifications\nGrade 12 / Matric\nRelevant qualification in Facilities Management, Logistics, Construction Management, Operations Management, Business Management or a related field will be advantageous.\nExperience\nMinimum 5 years' experience in facilities, logistics, site services or operational management, preferably within the construction, engineering, infrastructure, industrial or project environment. \nPrevious experience managing facilities on a large-scale construction project will be highly advantageous. \nDemonstrated experience managing contractors and external service providers. \nExperience coordinating site logistics, deliveries, offices, welfare facilities and general site services. \nGood understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a construction environment. \nStrong planning, organisational and problem-solving abilities. \nGood commercial awareness and cost-control capabilities. \nStrong computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. \nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills. \nValid driver's licence. \nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding project
