This role is an Existing Vacancy\nWhy Join Us?\nCompetitive Benefit Wellness Package \nCost of Living Allowance & Shift Premiums paid out hourly starting Day 1 \nGuaranteed wage increases in each year of the collective agreement \nCompetitive vacation entitlements and minimum 20%-30% premium paid on vacation hours \nProductivity payment plan (bi-weekly) and profit sharing plan (quarterly) based on Company performance and key goals \nCompany paid Defined Contribution Pension Plan (RRSP) with no employee contribution required. \nEmployee and Family Assistance Program available \nAll Personal Protective Equipment, tools, and job training provided at no cost \nResponsibilities:\nOperate equipment to support various producing units such as power saws, manual lathes, milling machines, layout (height gauge, trammel, dividers) drills, grinders, shaper, bolt threader, key seater; \nPerform tasks to support operations of various producing units (able to read and understand CNC programs, as well as produce your own simple programming); \nInspect raw materials and finished product to meet specifications; \nOperate and inspect material handling equipment (such as overhead & mobile cranes); light mobile equipment (such as forklifts, pickup trucks); \nOperate and inspect hand-held equipment (such as torches, pneumatic/ power actuated tools); \nAssist with the maintenance or repair of equipment; \nCommunicate clearly (verbal/written/computerized), tasks performed by means of daily log; \nKnowledge of cutting tools (carbide, high speed steel, ceramic, indexable, tapered shank, how to sharpen); \nRead and interpret blueprints/drawings, produce rough sketches (abbreviations, symbols for machining/welding/assembly, tolerances); \nMachine and maintain close tolerances at all times; \nFit and assemble simple as well as complex assemblies; \nWork alone with minimal supervision or with other Maintenance Technicians in conjunction with operating team members to perform maintenance tasks. \nJob Qualifications:\nGeneral Machinist Certificate of Qualification (429A) or Tool and Die Maker Certificate of Qualification (403A) \nMinimum of two years’ experience in an industrial environment; \nJob Skills and Knowledge:\nTemperature Tolerance: The ability to withstand extreme temperatures; \nReaction Time: The ability to quickly respond to process upsets; \nStatic Strength: The ability to exert significant muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects; \nTrunk Strength: The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time, including bending and stooping; \nDynamic Strength: The ability to exert muscle force at intervals throughout a work shift. This involves muscular endurance and resistance to muscle fatigue; \nAgility: The ability to negotiate different areas of the plant, including climbing stairs and ladders, and moving around barriers; \nManual Dexterity: The ability to quickly move and react. \nWork Environment:\nThe job is within a heavy industrial environment and you may be required to work within various areas of the facility. Depending on the area you work in, the environmental conditions may be hot, cold, dirty, dusty, wet or noisy; \nSafe production is a core value of our organization. All work must be performed in accordance with established safety procedures and guidelines.
