This role is an Existing Vacancy\nResponsibilities:\nIdentify and weld different types of metals and steel; \nWork independently or in a team environment; \nRead and interpret fabrication drawings and produce rough sketches (abbreviations, symbols for welding/assembly, tolerances) and civil drawings; \nOperate job-related equipment (cut off saw, ironworker, hydraulic presses, shears, drill presses, torches, oxygen lances, pneumatic/power actuated tools, & plasma cutters); \nFabricate and weld both small and large fabrications; \nHandle, transport, and process product and materials using equipment; \nInspect raw materials and finished product to meet specifications; \nOperate and inspect material handling equipment (such as overhead & mobile cranes) and light mobile equipment (such as forklifts, pickup trucks); \nAssist with the maintenance or repair of equipment; \nFit and assemble simple as well as complex assemblies; \nGood housekeeping practices at all times, to help maintain safe work areas for yourself and your coworkers. \nJob Qualifications\n456A Industrial Welder Certificate of Qualification is a strong asset \nAbility to obtain TSSA 6G certification using SMAW \nStrong print reading and fabrication skills \nValid or previously held TSSA 6G or CWB SMAW all position certification \nExperience in SAW, FCAW, GMAW or TIG processes is preferred \nMinimum of 2 years in an industrial environment with experience in fabricating \nJob Skills and Knowledge\nTemperature Tolerance: The ability to withstand extreme temperatures; \nReaction Time: The ability to quickly respond to process upsets; \nStatic Strength: The ability to exert significant muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects; \nTrunk Strength: The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time, including bending and stooping; \nDynamic Strength: The ability to exert muscle force at intervals throughout a work shift. This involves muscular endurance and resistance to muscle fatigue; \nAgility: The ability to negotiate different areas of the plant, including climbing stairs and ladders, and moving around barriers; \nManual Dexterity: The ability to quickly move and react. \nWork Environment\nThe job is within a heavy industrial environment and you may be required to work within various areas of the facility. Depending on the area you work in, the environmental conditions may be hot, cold, dirty, dusty, wet or noisy; \nSafe production is a core value of our organization. All work must be performed in accordance with established safety procedures and guidelines.
