If these types of projects excite you, we’d love for you to join our team and help us detect, protect, and connect.\nThis is a key position that oversees the Purchasing Organization for The Stellant Torrance, CA facility focusing on leading a team of purchasing professionals and will be responsible for developing and executing the site purchasing strategy to ensure product availability, optimize inventory levels, and support business objectives. This role will require close collaboration with material planning, production planning and logistics teams to balance supply and demand effectively and to meet customer needs at the site level. An additional focus for the role will be on creating standard work and training for the purchasing organization. The position will also be responsible for establishing KPIs for the organization and driving operational excellence and discipline within the team.\nResponsibilities\nDevelop and implement innovative procurement strategies that align with the organization’s long-term goals, optimize cost-efficiency, improve supply chain performance, and ensure a competitive advantage.\nAlign supply plans with sales forecasts, proposal/capture activity and production schedules.\nProvide sound leadership to the team and ensure excellence in performance.\nDevelop and maintain Purchasing KPIs that align to Business KPIs and measure Purchasing performance.\nDevelop and maintains excellent relationships with internal stakeholders.\nIdentify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions within the purchasing organization through use of lean tools, standard work and training.\nDevelop and enforce purchasing policies and procedures.\nLead regular RAIL meetings to review plans, performance, and address any issues.\nCommunicate material plans, forecasts, and strategies to senior management and key stakeholders.\nTrack Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to material planning.\nManage and mentor a team of purchasers.\nFoster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.\nProvide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills.\nQualifications\nMinimum 10 years of experience in A&D SCM, with at least 5 years managing a team.\nStrong leadership and team management abilities, with proven experience in managing a team’s day-to-day activities and ensuring high performance.\nProficiency in purchasing software, (e.g. Infor LN, SAP, Oracle) ERP and MRP systems, and A&D regulatory compliance (AS9100, NADCAP).\nFamiliarity with ITAR, EAR, DFAR, and FAR regulations.\nHigh level of attention to detail and excellent time management skills.\nExcellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in purchasing & supply chain management, procurement, logistics, or a related field.\n(CIP) Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) or the Institute for Supply Management (ISM)\nExpert knowledge of Microsoft Power BI\nInfor/LN ERP System knowledge/experience\nStellant Systems is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
