In this position, you will be responsible for the high-quality assembly and test of precision Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) vacuum electronic components for commercial and government satellite applications; this requires meeting extremely high manufacturing standards with challenging lead times and cost considerations.\nResponsibilities\nManagement and training of hourly employees\nSupporting development and implementation of Lean process improvement plans\nProviding accurate production status updates to Operations management, Program Management, Engineering, and downstream production areas.\nEnsure all work is completed on time and to specification\nResponsible for mentoring, leading and supervising employees\nSupervise the production flow within their respective areas and ensure safety and the efficiency of the entire shop floor\nAssess the work performance of employees against clearly established expectations and identify areas that need improvement (provide documented coaching where necessary)\nWork with technicians, manufacturing engineers, test engineers and quality teams to resolve reoccurring nonconformance issues\nEnsure that business goals, deadlines and performance standards are met\nCoordinate with engineering and other departments to minimize production interruptions\nSchedule risk identification and mitigation\nCollaborate with manufacturing and design engineers for development teardowns\nPerform root cause analysis and the implementation of corresponding corrective action plans\nReduction of downtime for product and personnel\nLead efforts to transition products from engineering development to full rate production\nReview work instructions to ensure shop floor tech’s have accurate and complete instructions and if necessary, recommend changes\nMeet tight production schedules to achieve high-rate production\nTrain and onboard newly hired employees to make sure they understand their roles\nDrive shop floor culture, enforce systems and corporate policies\nDevelop, initiating, coordinating, and enforcing system policies, and procedures\nMonitor labor hours and overtime, and implement improvement plans and strong time management with staff\nCapacity planning of equipment and personnel\nConduct stand-up meetings with employees and management of area metrics\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree and 0+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment or 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment - preferably with manufacturing and testing of precision RF and electronic products.\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\nDemonstrated leadership skills are necessary, with previous supervisory experience highly preferred.\nMust be able to interpret detailed engineering drawings and associated assembly instructions.\nEffective verbal and written communication skills are required.\nAbility to create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.\nPrevious experience working in a RF test environment.\nFamiliarity with enterprise resource planning systems, such as Infor LN, is a plus.\nExperience in a union environment is beneficial.\nLean manufacturing training and experience is a plus.\nAble to adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast paced work environment\nExcellent concentration and attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and accuracy\nSafety training and/or safety certifications\nExperience monitoring, tracking and continually improving the total cost equation\nExperience with applying lean manufacturing principles, efficiency methods\nExperience solving manufacturing problems related to incapable processes and or designs\nDemonstrated record of high-performance\nMust be able to obtain a security clearance\nStellant Systems is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
