This role will assess cybersecurity risk across complex space, ground, and hardware systems and help identify vulnerabilities and mitigation needs early in the development lifecycle. The position combines technical cybersecurity analysis, risk assessment, system evaluation, and cross-disciplinary coordination to strengthen mission resilience.\nRole/Responsibilities/Qualifications\nThe Cybersecurity Engineer will support cybersecurity engineering activities for Major Defense Acquisition Programs spanning space, ground, and hardware systems. The role will test, analyze, evaluate, validate, and verify cybersecurity aspects of mission systems while identifying risks that require early mitigation. This position requires close coordination across engineering and program stakeholders to integrate cybersecurity considerations into system development and mission assurance activities.\nKey responsibilities include:\nSupport cybersecurity engineering activities across space, ground, and hardware systems.\nProvide technical input to Risk Management Framework activities and associated documentation.\nPlan and execute Mission Based Cyber Risk Assessments and Mission Based Risk Assessments - Cyber.\nDevelop threat scenarios to support cyber test events, including Cyber Table Top activities.\nAnalyze cybersecurity architectures and network diagrams to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and mitigation needs.\nEvaluate network designs against security objectives, operational objectives, and system trade-offs.\nApply cybersecurity, privacy, networking, and network security principles to system assessments.\nSupport testing, analysis, evaluation, validation, and verification of cybersecurity capabilities and controls.\nIdentify cybersecurity risks requiring early mitigation and communicate technical findings to program stakeholders.\nCoordinate across engineering disciplines to integrate cybersecurity considerations into system development and mission assurance activities.\nRequired Qualifications\n7+ years of experience as a cybersecurity engineer supporting Major Defense Acquisition Programs, including space, ground, and hardware systems.\nExperience providing input to Risk Management Framework process activities and documentation.\nExperience planning and executing Mission Based Cyber Risk Assessments and Mission Based Risk Assessments - Cyber.\nExperience developing threat scenarios to support cyber test events such as Cyber Table Top activities.\nKnowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles, computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies.\nKnowledge of network design processes, including security objectives, operational objectives, and trade-offs.\nAbility to perform technical analyses of cybersecurity architectures and network diagrams.\nBachelor’s degree.\nDoD 8140 Level II certification, such as Security+.\nDesired Qualifications\nExperience with space-based remote sensing systems.\nExperience developing system security context and preliminary system security Concepts of Operations.\nExperience defining baseline system security requirements in accordance with applicable cybersecurity requirements.\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Information Assurance, Information Security, or a related field.\nMaster’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Information Assurance, or Information Security.\nDoD 8140 Level III certification, such as CISSP, ISSEP, or ISSAP.\nClearance & Additional Requirements\nSecret clearance required\nCurrent TS/SCI eligibility desired\nLocation\nEl Segundo, CA\nCompensation:\nThe typical annual salary range for this position is approximately, USD $115,000 - $145,000. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.\nIn addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a comprehensive total rewards package that includes an annual performance bonus, an employer-funded Profit-Sharing Plan (PSP) contribution based on base compensation, and comprehensive employer-paid medical benefits, PTO pay-out options, along with additional company-sponsored benefits. All of these benefits represent an additional 30-40% to your base compensation for a total compensation package.\nDeliverable(s)\nDeliverables could be in the format of a report, software file, briefing, spreadsheet, or other document as directed by the Government, using government approved and/or mandated systems/software and processes governed by guidance/instructions/policy or direction.
