Full Stack Engineer Pod Lead

Role Overview :

We are looking for experienced Full Stack Engineer Pod Leads to lead engineering pods within a large enterprise application development and modernization program. This is not a purely managerial role; candidates are expected to remain technically hands-on.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the technical delivery of a full stack engineering pod.

- Own solution design and development across Java, JavaScript, APIs, and relational databases.

- Translate business and functional requirements into technical solutions and implementation plans.

- Provide technical direction and day-to-day guidance to engineers within the pod.

- Develop and review backend services and APIs using Java and Spring/Spring Boot.

- Guide frontend development using JavaScript and relevant frontend frameworks.

- Review database design, SQL queries, stored procedures, and data access approaches.

- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering standards.

- Resolve complex application, integration, database, and production issues.

- Identify technical risks, dependencies, and delivery bottlenecks early.

- Work with architects to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and modernization standards.

- Collaborate with product owners and program teams on estimation, sprint planning, and delivery commitments.

- Drive engineering quality including unit testing, code quality, security, scalability, and performance.

- Mentor engineers and support capability development within the pod.

- Participate in and, where required, facilitate Agile ceremonies.

- Support deployments, production releases, and critical production incidents.

- Provide clear delivery status, risks, dependencies, and escalation inputs to program leadership.

Mandatory Technical Skills:

- Core Java / Java/J2EE

- Spring / Spring Boot

- JavaScript

- Relational databases and SQL

- REST APIs / Web Services

- Microservices-based applications

- Git, Maven/Gradle

Preferred Skills:

- React or Angular

- Hibernate / JPA

- Kafka or other messaging platforms

- Docker and Kubernetes

- CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps)

- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)

- Enterprise application modernization and legacy transformation

Leadership & Delivery Experience:

- 9+ years of overall software development experience.

- Prior experience leading a development team or engineering pod (4-8 engineers).

- Strong experience estimating work and managing sprint commitments.

- Ability to identify technical dependencies, risks, and blockers.

- Strong stakeholder communication skills.

- Ability to balance hands-on engineering responsibilities with team leadership.
