It allows the apprentice to gain technical knowledge and real practical experience, along with functional and personal skills, required for their immediate job and future career. These are acquired through a mix of learning in the workplace, formal off the job training and the opportunity to practice and embed new skills in a real work context.\nCourse Content:\nSurvival in the water during maritime emergencies.\nEmergency first aid in response to maritime accidents or medical emergencies.\nMaritime security\nMaritime sector overview\nMaritime employment environmental health and safety practice.\nVessel fire prevention and firefighting.\nBasic vessel watchkeeping\nControl Operation of Survival Craft and Rescue Boats\nIn Addition Apprentices will also be required to complete the follow:\nFunctional skills in literacy and numeracy.\nEmployer Rights and Responsibilities\nPersonal Learning and Thinking Skills\nEnclosed Spaces\nDesignated Security Duties\nEngine Watchroom Rating Certificate\nSTCW Basic Safety Training\nUnrestricted ENG1 Medical\nWho you are\nAt Stena Line your personality matters as much as how good you are at what you do.
