We are currently interested in filling the position for a Large Animal Veterinary Technician on a swine research center near Watertown, WI. This position will be focused on laparoscopic artificial insemination, oocyte recovery and embryo transfer in pigs using sexed sorted sperm. Large animal experience is not necessary to apply.\n\nThis position will include the following responsibilities and day-to-day functions, but is not limited to:\nApply knowledge of large animal anesthesia protocols to assist in procedures safely and effectively.\nSupport other veterinarians and technicians during surgical or reproductive procedures with precision and attention to detail.\nMaintain strict sterility and cleanliness in surgical environments to ensure biosecurity and animal well-being.\nAdminister medications and assist in post-procedure animal monitoring.\nResponsible for technical procedures such as data entry and record-keeping.\nCommunicate (verbally and written) to supervisor, customers and research center employees.\nMonitor and support feed distribution, clean water availability, and climate control systems.\nConduct routine health checks, weigh pigs, and respond to signs of illness in collaboration with animal care teams.\nSupport cross-functional needs across departments when operational priorities shift.\nHigh level of professionalism and confidentiality with company-related matters.\nAdapt to a flexible work schedule, including early mornings or weekends as needed.\nPerform other technical and production duties as assigned to support surgical and research programs.\n\nThe successful candidate would ideally possess the following experience and qualifications:\nVet tech degree required.\nFamiliarity with biosecurity protocols in the swine industry.\nExperience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).\nAttentiveness to detail.\nInterest and concern for animals.\nCapable of working as a member of a high-performing team or independently.\nAbility to make decisions in a fast-paced changing environment.\n\nAbout Us:\nAcuFast provides pork producers across North America and worldwide with breeding stock and innovative genetic and reproduction solutions.
