Has mastered the foundational skills required of an Associate level 1. At this level, assumes significantly more writing and modeling responsibilities. Is responsible for developing a solid understanding of the assigned sector and can clearly state and defend the investment thesis for all stocks in the assigned sector. Must be able to handle basic question from Sales and Clients and is beginning to represent the associates in internal research presentations.\nWhat We're Looking For\nConduct propriety research and due diligence on companies in the biotech sector, using internal and external sources to convey a strong understanding of covered companies and their competitive landscapes.\nDevelop written product with modest direction from the senior level Research Analyst regarding initiation of coverage reports, company news, and industry events.\nBuild and maintain Excel-based financial models, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, as well as perform multiple valuation methodologies for covered companies.\nClearly state and defend the Analyst's investment thesis and outlook for each of the stocks under coverage.\nRespond to basic questions from institutional sales and clients regarding covered companies, industry trends, and data requests.\nMeet the special projects demands of the senior level Research Analyst.\nSome travel by car and/or air in conjunction with local, regional and/or national travel, up to 20%. \nWhat You'll Bring\nInductive Reasoning - The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions.\nCritical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.\nJudgment and Decision Making - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.\nTime Management - Managing one's own time and priorities to ensure the meeting of deadlines\nOral and Written Expression - The ability to communicate information and ideas in spoken or written form so that others will understand.\nEconomics, Accounting, Finance, and Securities Analysis - Knowledge of economic, accounting, and financial principles and practices, the financial markets, the industry, the analysis and reporting of financial data, and associated terminology.\nScience Background or Interest in the Biotech Field - Some education in relevant science fields, background in biotech or prior experience in drug development. \nEducation & Experience\nMinimum Required: Bachelor's degree\nMinimum Required: 2 to 4 years of relevant industry experience and/or proven experience at the Associate I level\nLicenses & Credentials\nMinimum Required: SIE, FINRA Series 86, and 87 expected to be obtained upon hire\nSystems & Technology\nProficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook\nCompensation Range\nSalary: USD $110,000.00/Yr. - USD $175,000.00/Yr. Actual salaries may vary, and may be based on several factors, including but not limited to each candidate’s qualifications, skills, and overall competencies for the position.
