Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.\nTasks and Qualifications:\nSoftware Engineer - R&D & Sustaining\nThis is What You Will Do in This Role:\nCollaborate with internal teams to translate requirements into scalable and robust AGV software solutions.\nDesign, develop, test, and debug software for autonomous vehicle systems, including job sequencing, environmental perception, object detection, motion control, navigation, embedded I/O, graphical user interfaces, and safety systems.\nTake ownership of assigned software modules, ensuring quality, maintainability, and long-term support.\nInvestigate software issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement durable solutions.\nDevelop and maintain software using Delphi and related tools and frameworks.\nSupport software productization and deployment, working with execution teams to ensure successful software releases.\nParticipate in software release cycles, including development, testing, debugging, and deployment.\nIntegrate new mechatronics technologies into the software stack.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support new vehicle development and product improvements.\nContribute to software development practices and processes that improve product quality, maintainability, and long-term sustainability.\nWhat We Are Looking For:\nBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.\n3+ years of experience in software development or a related role.\nProficiency in Delphi or similar object-oriented programming languages.\nStrong understanding of software development principles, practices, and lifecycle management.\nExperience with multi-threaded and client-server software architectures.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve complex software issues.\nAbility to develop software with a focus on long-term maintainability, product sustainability, and ease of future development and support.\nExperience working collaboratively with internal teams and external customers.\nClear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.\nSelf-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.\nExperience with AGVs, robotics, automation, material handling, or industrial systems is preferred.\nExperience with robotics, motion control, navigation, or real-time systems is preferred.\nExperience developing GUIs or working with industrial communication protocols is preferred.\nExperience with Agile/Scrum development practices and tools such as JIRA and GitLab is preferred.\nAbility to travel up to 20% of the time.","description_format":"text","description_chars":3596,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":3,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Hardware","Manufacturing","Industrial Machinery"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-23T01:57:12Z"}],"liveness":{"score":70,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.774,"p_room":0.9,"age_days":8,"expected_fill_days":17,"reasons":["conf:0","win:mid","comp:brand"],"computed_at":"2026-09-23T05:45:00Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":138000,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/still-software-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/still-software-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-09-23T18:26:50Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers"}}
