We’re looking for teammates who are energized by this challenge.\nThe Role\nAs a Senior Databricks Project Manager, you are the first project management hire dedicated to Stitch’s Databricks team. You own integrated project plans, budgets, risk mitigation, and change control for medium to large data and IT engagements. You operate as a project owner, not just a project manager. You understand why the work matters, and you use that to get buy-in, influence timelines, and move client IT teams past their defaults. You select and tailor methodology (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) based on what the project needs. You manage vendor and client IT delivery, enforce governance, present risks and options to client leadership, and write for multiple audiences- executive summaries, decision memos, steering committee decks. You help set the standard for how Stitch delivers Databricks engagements through your own execution.\nWho You Are\nFirst and foremost, you’re motivated by impact. If this sounds like you, you will thrive here.\nWhat You’ll Do\nOwn integrated project plans: scope, schedule, cost, dependencies. Manage critical path and scenario planning. \nOwn budgets and forecasts. Track burn, perform variance analysis, re-baseline when needed. Support SOW and change management. \nOwn risk mitigation and issue resolution. Write risks with cause → event → impact. Document mitigation vs. contingency.\n Own change control. Write change requests that clearly justify scope, cost, and timeline impact. \nDrive buy-in across client IT, data, and business stakeholders. Build the case for decisions and keep work moving through slow approval and intake processes.\nIInfluence timelines and challenge IT defaults. Push client IT teams toward the right solution, not just the easiest one. \nSelect and tailor Stitch’s SEW delivery methodology based on project context, client maturity, and team capability. \nDesign project dashboards and automated reporting. Produce executive updates that surface risk, not just activity.\nManage cross-team dependencies across client IT, data engineering, security, and vendors. Enforce governance at the project level.\nWrite for multiple audiences: executive summaries, decision memos, steering committee decks, detailed delivery plans.\nPartner with Databricks practice leadership to define and build repeatable PM standards for the Databricks team. \nManage your time to meet billable targets of 36+ hours per week. \nTravel up to 20% for client meetings, workshops, and onsite engagements. \nWhat Success Looks Like\nYour projects are consistently on track-and when they’re not, leadership hears from you first with a recovery plan already in motion. \nClients trust your governance. Steering committee meetings are productive, not adversarial. \nClient IT teams move faster and make better decisions because of your influence. Your financial management is precise-forecasts are accurate, variance is explained, and budget integrity is maintained. \nYou establish the PM foundation for Stitch’s Databricks team, and the practice is easier to scale because of it. \nRequirements\nWhat You Bring\nPM tool mastery: setup, reporting, and hygiene in ClickUp, MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or equivalent. \nAgile, Waterfall, and Hybrid-select and tailor per project. \nBudget ownership: forecasting, variance analysis, EAC, burn tracking. \nRAID ownership: proactive risk modeling, mitigation planning, and structured issue surfacing.\nChange control: scope boundaries, requirements traceability, assumption documentation. \nIT and data domain knowledge: 2-5 years delivering data platform, data integration, or enterprise IT projects (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, cloud data warehouses, data pipelines). \nExperience implementing or driving net new solutions on the IT side of client ecosystems: you’ve led or co-led at least one full-lifecycle implementation (discovery through launch).\nProven ability to influence IT teams: getting buy-in, shifting timelines, and changing decisions without direct authority. \nPassion for leveraging AI to help drive more efficient documentation (e.g., Gemini, Claude). \nDocumentation mastery: project charters, integrated plans, dependency maps, risk registers, go/no-go briefs, closure reports. \nGovernance: stage gates, compliance checklists, audit logs, PMO standards. \nHow You Consult\nAt Senior, you’re managing outcomes, not tasks. How you communicate and build trust determines whether clients see Stitch as a vendor or a partner.\nTranslate delivery complexity into business language. Lead meetings that drive decisions, not just updates.\nBuild relationships at multiple levels. Communicate effectively with C-suite, project leads, and technical teams, especially client and IT data leaders. \nLead with the “why”. Connect the business outcome to the technical work so IT teams have a reason to prioritize and change course.\nPresent risks with recommendations and tradeoffs, not just alerts.\nNavigate scope boundaries with confidence - knowing when to hold firm and when to adapt\nOwn outcomes. Lead without being asked. Identify what needs doing and do it.\nStay persistent and constructive through slow-moving IT processes.
