Our technology starts with you.\n_____________________________________________________________________\nYOUR ROLE\nosition summary\nThe Environmental Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining environmental management programs in an industrial setting. The role ensures compliance with environmental legislation, corporate standards, and site objectives related to emissions, waste, water, energy, chemical handling, and pollution prevention. A key part of the role is assessing chemical-related environmental aspects and risks.\nMain responsibilities\nEnsure compliance with applicable environmental laws, regulations, permits, and company standards\nIdentify, assess, and monitor environmental impacts related to industrial operations\nConduct environmental risk assessments, including chemical storage, handling, use, transport, and disposal\nReview chemical inventories, Safety Data Sheets, and associated environmental hazards\nEvaluate risks related to air emissions, wastewater, waste generation, soil contamination, and accidental releases\nSupport environmental permits, reporting, inspections, and audits\nDevelop and track environmental KPIs, action plans, and improvement initiatives\nMonitor waste management, recycling, hazardous waste segregation, and disposal contractors\nSupport water management, energy-saving initiatives, and pollution prevention projects\nParticipate in incident investigations involving environmental spills, leaks, or chemical releases\nCoordinate corrective and preventive actions with operations, maintenance, HSE, and suppliers\nDeliver environmental awareness and chemical handling training to employees and contractors\nSupport emergency preparedness and response for chemical or environmental incidents\nMaintain environmental documentation, records, and regulatory reporting\nChemical assessment responsibilities\nPerform environmental impact assessments for chemicals used on site\nReview compatibility, storage conditions, containment, and labeling requirements\nAssess substitution opportunities for less hazardous or more sustainable alternatives\nVerify disposal methods for chemical waste and contaminated materials\nEnsure chemical use complies with internal approval processes and regulatory requirements\nSupport exposure and release prevention measures in coordination with safety teams\nYOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES\nEngineer/ Master degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field\nExperience in an industrial or manufacturing environment\nKnowledge of environmental legislation, chemical risk assessment, and waste management\nUnderstanding of emissions control, wastewater, hazardous substances, and spill prevention\nStrong analytical and reporting skills\nExperience with ISO 14001 or integrated management systems\nFamiliarity with chemical regulatory frameworks and SDS interpretation\nGood project management and problem-solving abilities\nStrong communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams\nProficiency in environmental data tracking and reporting tools\nDetail-oriented and structured\nProactive and solution-oriented\nStrong teamwork and stakeholder management\nAble to work under pressure and manage priorities\nCommitted to continuous improvement and sustainability\n__________________________________________________________________\nST is proud to be one of the 17 companies certified as a 2025 Global Top Employer and the first and only semiconductor company to achieve this distinction.
