Our technology starts with you.\nYOUR ROLE\nWe are seeking a Dry Etching Process Engineer to develop, optimize, and support plasma etching processes used in semiconductor manufacturing. The role focuses on process stability, yield improvement, equipment matching, troubleshooting, and continuous process optimization in a R&D environment.\nThis position is related to research and develop Etching processes for new technological platforms based on SiC and non standard materials.\nThe Etching Process engineer will support the development of the power discrete technologies and products related to single Etching process characterization 8’’ inches for SiC PMOS Technology, cleaning and post-etch treatments and will guarantee the correct transfer of etch processes during the release of technology to the Fab. This implies that new equipment and/or new materials have to be managed in full autonomy, interfacing suppliers for spec definition.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and optimize dry etching recipes for semiconductor materials and structures.\nMonitor process performance, yield, defectivity, and tool matching.\nTroubleshoot process excursions, abnormal tool behavior, and wafer-level defects.\nCollaborate with equipment, yield, integration, and manufacturing teams.\nSupport new product introduction, process transfers, and technology ramp-up.\nAnalyze process data using statistical methods and define corrective actions.\nQualify new process chambers, consumables, and equipment upgrades.\nMaintain process documentation, control plans, and standard operating procedures.\nEnsure compliance with safety, quality, and cleanroom protocols.\nYOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES\nMaster’s degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or related field.\nExperience in semiconductor process engineering, preferably in dry etching / plasma etch.\nStrong understanding of:Plasma etching fundamentals\nSelectivity, anisotropy, and profile control\nProcess DOE and SPC\nSemiconductor fabrication flow\n\nAbility to interpret metrology and inspection data.\nR&D Attitude.\nExperience with advanced etch tools and process control systems.\nExperience with data analysis tools such as JMP, Python, or MATLAB.\nKey Competencies\nAnalytical thinking\nStrong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.\nResult orientation & Communication skills.\nAbility to cooperate in large and wide teams.\nFluent in English language.\nAttention to detail\nProcess ownership\nCross-functional collaboration\nResults orientation\nContinuous improvement mindset\nThe expected salary range for this position is €38,000 - €45,000 gross annual salary (RAL).\nIn accordance with the EU Pay Transparency Directive and applicable Italian legislation, this compensation range has been determined based on objective, gender-neutral criteria, including job responsibilities, required skills, relevant experience, qualifications, and market benchmarks. Placement within the range will depend on the candidate’s profile and demonstrated competencies.
