Our technology starts with you.\nROLE\nSTMicroelectronics (Malta) Ltd. is seeking a Senior Facility Engineer (Water Treatment) to oversee engineering activities related to facility process systems, including deionized water (DIW), wastewater treatment (WWT), emission control systems, and process plants.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nThe responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\nOperate and monitor wastewater treatment systems, including equalization, oxidation, MBR, centrifuge, and ultrafiltration processes, to support safe and efficient water treatment.\nMonitor and report water quality, flow, usage, treatment, and recycling performance using SCADA, SPC systems, and field instrumentation.\nCollect water and sludge samples, conduct basic water-quality tests, and maintain accurate operational and laboratory records.\nCoordinate preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and support repairs to maintain reliable water treatment operations.\nMaintain effective TPM, CMMS, calibration, and preventive maintenance programs, ensuring critical spares and treatment chemicals are available.\nSupport water-treatment process improvements, waste reduction, 8D investigations, and projects involving new or upgraded systems.\nMaintain procedures, Control Plans, OCAPs, and PFDs/P&IDs; ensure supplier services meet operational requirements.\nEnsure water treatment operations comply with environmental and site safety requirements, and communicate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders.\nSkills & Qualifications\nThe ideal candidate shall:\nBachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering or related science.\nProven experience with facility systems, including chemical systems, deionized water (DIW), wastewater treatment (WWT), scrubbers, and process gases. \nExperience in semiconductor facilities is considered an advantage. \nA proactive, adaptable, and agile approach, with a strong willingness to learn.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to resolve differing viewpoints and develop practical, effective solutions.\nCommitment to continuous improvement.\nProficiency in English.\nST is proud to be one of the 17 companies certified as a 2025 Global Top Employer and the first and only semiconductor company to achieve this distinction.
