If you want to work alongside some of the most dedicated and talented people on Earth, we’d love to have you join us.\nDescription \nThe Flight Safety System (FSS) is a fundamental system responsible for maintaining public safety. As a Flight Safety Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the Flight Termination System (FTS). This role is a multidisciplinary role, inclusive of design, test, certification, and operation. You should be organized, a good communicator, and excellent at identifying and solving problems related to the integration of complex systems. You should be familiar with all, and well versed in at least one, of the many engineering disciplines which are part of a flight termination system: electrical engineering, software engineering, environmental test. You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly. \nKey Responsibilities \nDesign aspects of the Flight Termination System and how it interfaces with both rocket hardware and safety regulations \nIntegrate FTS components into the launch vehicle and perform all associated integrated testing from production through launch. \nDefine environmental test requirements, test plans, and execute testing to qualify FTS components in collaboration with test engineers and vendors. \nDefine verification methods, collect verification evidence, and provide documentation of verification of all tailored RCC319 and RCC324 requirements to appropriate government entities. \nPartner with integrated test operations related to FTS components and ensure tight configuration management, hosting System Readiness Review to demonstrate \nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or similar field \n2+ years of experience in an engineering role on a complex product requiring high performance, high reliability, and a rapid development process \nExceptional command of fundamentals of flight dynamics and statistics \nFamiliarity with fundamentals of mechanical design and component testing \nExperience with simulation and modeling of physical systems \nExcellent written and verbal communication \nAbility to lead and follow \nPreferred Qualifications \nExperience with flight safety regulations \n Benefits \nEquity - We are pleased to offer equity in the form of stock options to all full-time employees. \nComprehensive benefits program including subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance \nCompany-paid life and disability insurance \n401(k) plan with employer match \n4 weeks’ Paid Time Off \nHolidays - 11 days (including an end-of-year closure) \nPaid Parental Leave \nOn-site gym or monthly wellness stipend (depending on location) \nDog friendly offices! \nCompensation \n Target level (s) for this role. \nLevel 2: $109,725 - $148,470\nLevel 3: $129,150 - $193,620\nLevel 4$151,305 - $252,105\nITAR Requirements\nTo conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S. (i.e., current Green Card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).\nEqual Opportunity \nThe Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including with respect to disability and veteran status.
